I just dislike when people over-do anything with UX, Feature set etc. etc. I tend to keep things simpler and intuitive with what I do. Did you see the Video-popup feature in Facebook? I don't know if it's been there for long. But it's such a BS. When you scroll the page, the video automatically jumps off from the frame and gets pinned to the top-left corner. It's just burning the user experience. Such a big company, no user tests? IDK!

As if it does matter - with FB the matter is reversed. If FB does something there will be complaints first, then it becomes standard because people will eventually get used to it and demand other sites to do the same.

Very much! there's been a talk about Mobile Application size in my office. And I would want to be very frugal with the MBs. I don't like when the size flies off lavishly like 30+MB for a normal App. Guess what? Facebook App size was like 130MB[^]. I don't know what the heck an App like FB has got to do with 130MB!
Now people want to set this as a standard and do reckless dumping of bytes into the builds. Anything that looks goes above 10MB feels like a bloat, un-optimized. But it does depend on what we are doing inside the App. Game applications and other rich UX, and some libraries cost us more MBs. Unavoidable. But simple daily-apps, going above 10MB, I'm sure there would be a lot of rooms for optimization.

It's the frameworks. They bloat code in unthinkable ways - that's why we keep boost libraries well out of the door for example.
Unluckily many junior programmers are taught that frameworks are the only sane way, also they allow unexperienced programmers to rapidly build up complex systems. Which is great, on paper, but it's like saying that it allows newbies to build functional nuclear power plants without havig to worry about the details. Kind of scary... Even without using the nuclear power just think of cars, houses, bridges, etc built by inexperienced and quickly trained engineers because they have been given a huge lego set.

People here really don't like FB.
They'll tell you to "take your FB elsewhere" and "I couldn't care less about FB".
Also that FB does not belong on CP because... Well I don't really remember, but you'd think that one of the biggest tech companies in the world belongs on one of the biggest forums about tech in the world.
Also going completely besides the point that you hate over-doing UX and just bash FB.
That's funny though, such reactions are not those of people who "don't care", they're the reactions of people who somehow are really bothered by FB and care a great deal
Anyway, that's what happened the last time when I mentioned FB in a post

I created my "FB" account a decade after it was available to public. I did that just to see what's in there. I'm never impressed with the social networking concepts. That's just okay, IMO. At times, When it matters to know the safety and availability of loved ones, I think they do help. But still I don't use it much. And I never managed to create my twitter account even today. I didn't see a need.
And the reason I said "I don't know if it's been there for long" clearly tells I do not frequent it.
I do not like me or my mates at work wasting time on social networks. (Okay, slacking @ Lounge, is fine, Codeproject is a technical Forum. )
And now I'm back in FB for marketing reasons. lol like a wolf in sheep's clothing, among the sheeps . That's what the job wants me to do. And the only time I'm going to mention "FB" here is when I'm ranting about it. And finally, I just dislike that guy called Marksuckerberg.

"Features" in FaceBook are like the hooded, beaked-bird-masked, doctors that went out in plague-struck cities in ye ancient tymes: [^]. They are frightening, useless, and do nothing but bleed the life out of you.

I only deliberately saw a face-book page once. The limited exposure is a clear indicator that I saw quite enough.
When I've the urge to rant and rave in public, exposing my innermost being to strangers (and drunks), I click my heels three times whilst chanting "there's no place like home", and open my eyes to find myself in the CP lounge. As a fresh breeze blows away the Gin haze, all is as well with the world as one should expect. My hopea are protected by Dante.

I'm so glad about one thing here in the lounge. It just stays as texts/smiles. So cool!
We got no option to share those dumb pictures ("Posters") inline. In FB, Every d*ck creates a poster with some mountain/sunrise/sunset BG and writes his own theory in two lines. Like... Life is all about.. which is applicable to JUST HIM! There were few good ones too, but who cares? there's billion good content out there with all those fun. One would end up wasting so much of time reading all those good junks!
Email forums were quite good too, but we need to a bit thick skinned for some personal attacks. (I think it applies everywhere, never mind! )

Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, waging all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

I've realised that I lie to myself in code.
My comments on why a piece of logic is as it is sound so very convincing and reasonable. Except they are lies: damn lies.
I need to sit down and have a word to myself, I think.
