My responses may be delayed - I have to take Herself for Physioterrorisation fairly soon...

So the corollary of your believing to be easy what is mind-destroyingly difficult is to believe that the bleedin' obvious is intractably tricky? Interesting!

Now that I have a new job where I get to design and program new hardware once more, I thought it would be nice to practice a little. Last night I designed a new graphics card for my old computer. One with its own CPU, plenty of memory and its own little OS to manage graphics resources. The main CPU can then run at full speed and simply uploads graphics resources and commands while the graphics CPU does all the hard work.
Last night I started on the schematic, covered my desk with data sheets, scratched my head, routed about 3/4 of the circuit board - until I noticed that it was time to get ready for work.
This is going to be one long friday...
The language is JavaScript. that of Mordor, which I will not utter here
This is Javascript. If you put big wheels and a racing stripe on a golf cart, it's still a f***ing golf cart.
"I don't know, extraterrestrial?"
"You mean like from space?"
"No, from Canada."

Agreed, you even typed the subject wrong, you may as well "throw a sickie" I can't see much productivity at work for you today.
Have a good weekend!

Thanks. Surprisingly, the opportunistic sleeping habits that you acquire during a few years of military service still seem to work after all those years. Let's see how long it will last.

The old computer is really old. We are talking about tech from the late 1970s. My little graphics card basically is a small single board computer with an IO port to talk with its host, an EPROM, a relatively fat static RAM, the graphics chip and the finest 8 bit CPU ever.
Everything is in CMOS and the clock frequency is low by today's standards, so the circuit board design is not really a challenge.

Definitely.

Nope. Intel always used an awkward CISC architecture, I was more into RISC (but did not know that at that time): RCA CDP1802[^]
