So you are afraid he will go back in time and bite you in the ass when the past you are coding and thinking "Hmm, I will do this hack now and then fix it later when I have the time."

Quote: "Hmm, I will do this hack now and then fix it later when I have the time."
The biggest lie we tell ourselves. When in reality what we mean is:"I will do this hack now, hope it won't bite me on the ass(the hack, not the rat ) and if it does, I will fix it when necessary."
And by fix it, I mean replace it with a more reliable hack.

I never done that.

You think that's bad? They drink cold tea with ice in it here in the US. Barbarians! Every civilised person knows that tea should be drunk hot, with milk; sugar optional.
- I would love to change the world, but they won’t give me the source code.

Not a tea man myself, but I can sympathize.
I was in Boston one time, and they asked me if I wanted a cup of coffee, I said yes, but when they came back with the cup I said in all honesty "Oh sorry, I asked for coffee, not tea."

I'm in the "coffee smells so good, but tastes howfin' camp......never liked the stuff.

Keep quiet - they burn the heretics here...

"Re: There are some do not know how to drink coffee..." to which I generally reply - No? What else can you do with it?
But seriously, I've observed that the best way to have a cup of nice hot coffee help to wake you up is to spill it on your lap.*

Right?
Well it's easy enough to find your favourite time period using this[^] interactive site

Wrong, it does not go back far enough - try 53-57, actually from 50 on.

Well, the first song that played for me was by the Hanson Brothers, so I think we can exclude 1997 as one of the golden years.

I was thinking the exact same thing!

That site is rubbish. It doesn't go back far enough to include Hank Williams Sr.! In the words of the Highway Men: If you don't like Hank Williams - you can k*ss my *ss!
Get me coffee and no one gets hurt!

No need to kiss your ass then.
Can't make everyone happy you know, soon Chris C-B wakes up and complains about the list missing a few centuries.

Maybe you are right, but the list starts far too late, with 1997 - maybe 1977...

The list doesn't start at 1997, the index defaults to it, try again.

I disagree. Music was different, but better or worse is not easy to compare, given the different socio-economic circumstances and the availability of different technology for playing and recording. Not to mention counter-movements to "popular music" in a specific area. But it is nice to look back every now and again
|

I disagree with your disagreement.
Good music is timeless. Look at Bach, Mozart and Vivaldi. Their recording technology was a piece of paper.
(And yes, I know. The site doesn't go back that far)
