Halt safari! This thread started as a joke, but now is getting perilously close to a flame war (which is forbidden in the Lounge.) Let's shake hands and terminate the thread here!

Believe me, it's nowhere close to a flame war.

True.
And there are other good reasons for buying it, too.

Yup, read those. There was also a google link for using PuTTY, which was brain dead simple to do. Comms are working!

It was useful without running in the background constantly spying and using up system resources. It didn't fit the Windows 10 paradigm.

I have used Termite on Weven, I managed to use the Pro edition of Hyperterminal too, so I think it will work, if you have a legal copy from XP. PuTTy seemed a bit over-engineer for the use I needed.

I use HyperTerminal all the time with Windows 7. You just have to download the two files: one EXE and and DLL. They're not tied to a specific Windows version.

I use QVT/Term, have since the 90s. It's more compatible with OpenVMS. If I recall correctly, very few terminus emulation systems emulate the "GOLD" key effectively; QVT/Term does (possibly Reflection does too).

And how many of them have investigative bodies whose names begin with Federal or whose duties are described as Federal?

OK,now you're really not going to believe this, but, in lots of those other countries, the people speak English!
Ridiculous, isn't it? Imaginary foreign countries speaking a language that was invented in the good ol' US of A?
Maybe you should TM the words "federal" and "body", to stop those little pixies using them.
