Do you mean the desert island with the gin bottle-shaped mountain in the middle?

No, he's moving to Juniper Island - the wellspring that all the world's gin is mined from.

There doesn't seem to be much gin mining here[^]. Is there another Juniper Island somewhere?

That's just what they want you to think: otherwise they would be flooded with gin-soaked reprobates!

What education a 'developer' have if he can't understand (and look-up a solution for) the simple fact that not all data can be converted to any data format...
The message 'cannot convert [type 1] to [type 2]' left them paralyzed...

What do you mean? Some bytes on the right side, more bytes on the other. Why should I not be able to convert them?

Of course you can convert them. There may be some data loss in the process, but Pete's Patented Squeezy Data Blender Algorithm will do the trick nicely. With this, I can convert from any format to any format with only (potentially) significant loss of data

And the Squeezy bit compresses the data nicely, or just throws it away if it won't fit.

How about ...
Employee anyone = new Employee(random(name));
try
{
Developer developer = (Developer) anyone;
}
catch (exception e)
{
throw new cannotConvertAnyoneToDeveloperException();
}
Or use Python, there is bound to be a package in Python explicitly for this conversion

Of course you can; it's just data. So you need to roll your own parser/formatter/converter?
The deer-in-headlights look is natural from the new guy when they realize this, and have no clue where to begin.
