Somehow the phone screen got split into two.
The lock screen was only half visible.
I waster a good minute getting it back to occupy the full screen.
And I don't know how it got back.
Talk about Ux issues.
And yes, I'm one of those fools who still continues to use a Windows phone.

I think you ended up yourself in the One-hand mode (happens when you long press Start button). Just tap on the empty half to turn it off

I've just started writing Android apps, to teach myself a valued skill lots of people want and I don't have, but I think I'll split my time to start on UWP as well.

I thought that was Mark Twain who said that about lies.
I gave up when my Nokia 920 melted somewhat in a small house fire. I only lost NFC capability with the $200 Samsung Android I replaced it with.

I did too. Apparently when he did, he was quoting then British Prime Minister Disraeli.
It's still my favorite quote, even if it arrived in a trans-Atlantic manner
"There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies and statistics."
- Benjamin Disraeli

And not even that, as Disraeli apparently quoted it from another source. There is research on the origination here: Lies, Damned Lies and Statistics[^] . And as the term statistics came about in the 18th century, who knows how much further back the three part division of liars goes?

Looks like it was the late 19th century equivalent of a meme...
I'm good with that.
