The wiki site itself states this - "The king of hearts is the only one of the kings without a mustache".
So I guess you are wrong for a change.
|
|
|
|
|
So it is true because the wiki claims it?

Nope - http://blog.ellusionist.com/inside-the-cards-suicide-king-may-not-be-so-suicidal/[^].
And also "Most standard English playing cards used today derived from the original French models produced in the mid-16th century. For the purpose of mass production, the earliest cards were printed using woodblocks. Disfiguring occurred over the centuries as unskilled block makers distorted the original designs, resulting in hands, symbols of office and other attributes losing their meaning. Among the many distortions that took effect, the King of Hearts not only lost his moustache, but the axe he was originally holding became a sword."

It's bad form to try and usurp someone else's regular slot (Thought of the Day belongs to OG).
|
|

Agreed. But it did not make sense posting 'alternate thought of the day' before the thought of the day was posted.

And it still does not. Find something different.

Sorry can't help you anymore.
OG can find something else (subject) for today if he wants to.

Sure, but that's only because you're incapable of having an original thought, any day.

The only anagram I can find is DEAN DOWLING - and Google says he's a character in a soap opera I've never heard of called "Fair City" and described by IMDB in the main review as "one star, Bucket of Cr@p" so I doubt it's that...
Bad command or file name. Bad, bad command! Sit! Stay! Staaaay...

Fair City is a soap about Dublin that was huge when I was a teenager. It's massively depressing, poorly acted, and should be filed under "Plague, avoid like the". Oh, and it possesses possibly the most annoying theme tune ever. My Mum loved it, I think she still watches it.

My mother used to watch the original "Crossroads", so I know how you feel...

I see your Crossroads and raise you River City, Glasgow's answer to Acorn Antiques, without the humour. No stereotype unrepresented, no scene underacted.

But does the scenery wobble when the "actors" walk past it?

Maybe not, but can you guess what the occupation of (until recently) the only gay male character is?

In this case 'order' does not indicate anagram, think holier.

OK, I wasn't aware of that, many apologies. Shall I let it run then or just give my answer and hand it over to someone else tomorrow?

I think you have to give the solution after 3 hours. But that also means you are up tomorrow as well.
