Here too, this night 3mm of frost on the car and it caught us all on surprise, the trains were almost all 30 minutes late presumably due to frost forming on the brakes.
I hadn't even prepared my usual alcool spray to defrost the windescreen and I was almost late trying to scrap the tough-as-nails layer of ice. And I had to turn on the heat at home at full Winter regime.

Yes, at less than 130 km South East of nearest French border (Briançon or Modane, they are almost equidistant).

I am the other side, near Avignon, I guess its the same weather we are having.

I thought as much. I visited Avignon and Arles some 14 years ago, beautiful places (and expensive as Hell, especially for italian pockets).

Luxury! What we wouldn't give to have a train service that ran only 30 minutes late!
Southern Rail strike: Talks break down as strike continues - BBC News[^]
Even on the rare occasions when they're not on strike, the staff are pulling sickies as a form of unofficial strike action, so most of the trains are cancelled to avoid having to pay compensation for being too delayed.

Same thing here. Consider that we have to take trains for distance usually covered by the tube in the other countries so we have, in the lucky palces, 1 train per hour on certain time periods then nothing. And trains are often cancelled at the last minute due to every kind of problems... also 30 minutes late on a travel that should take 75 minutes is a freaking lot, but today at least there were reasosn.
There has been weeks in which I ould take the train 2 days out of 5 and usually getting home 1-2 hours late... it rubs after a while. Plus in Spring and Summer all the Fridays there is, totally casually, a strike.

The rowan trees are full of berries, so it's going to be a cold winter.
If you believe that kind of stuff.

Our lemon tree is full of fruit, so I don't care about the winter as I got something for my G&T!

At what point do I post a solution for this? Kinda surprised that nobody has taken up the gauntlet...

It's not so much a refusal to take up the gauntlet as a complete failure to get anywhere with it so far.

Edited slightly, I think should make it easier now.

Anyway, its time to post the solution.

Movie Quote Of The Day
Quote:
When you're down and low, lower than the floor, And you feel like you ain't got a chance.
Bom, bom, bom, Don't make a move till you're in the groove And do the Peter Panda Dance:
[Clap twice]
'Just hop three times like a kangaroo, Side-step twice just like those/the crabs do, Three steps forward, one step back. Quick like a turtle, lie on your back!
'Roll like a log till you can't roll no more!' Better jump up quick like there ain't no floor, Hold your breath, and jump/step/slide to the left'; And that's the Peter, I swear that's the Peter, That's the Peter Panda Dance!
