They are still testing.
Why hire testers when there are millions of unpaid ones?
Never noticed that "Windows Shell Experience Host" process. Maybe because my default TM sorting is for disk activity which is the bottle neck when not having an SSD.

Even with a SSD. They help a lot but aren't those Thor's thunder marketing wants us to believe. I have a fairly fast one and while it reduces a lot the loading times of my games it's not so fast as to not be a bottleneck.
Doing a huge transfer of data between disks I had the rotative one writing at 75 MB/s while the SSD at 100 MB/s. Definetely faster but still comparable.

There's a Harry Potter plot in there... The philosophers stone only comes to those who do not want it (which is why he who must be named can never get it).
Or something like that.

In the last year or so I’ve been learning R programming while working with the statisticians in my work team. I always felt at ill ease around them, I couldn’t put my finger on it. Then I realized it’s because they’re always plotting something…
It was broke, so I fixed it.

Please don't, I have to work with R at the moment. Building an interface between MATLAB and R via a Java wrapper; the edge is so blunt you could call it a plank.

You have my sympathies.
I been converting Matlab and SAS code (Is it code?) for use in R, there is talk of building a Python interface to link them together. Makes me nervous.

I have just spent an hour with Windows Live Movie Maker
First time in my life.
I have a 5 minute video clip from my Android.
Resolution is "HD", i.e, 720 by 1280 (I think)
When I try to watch it on the Android or PC, it plays sideways; despite the fact that I recorded it vertically.
Google sends me to SEO advertisements.
Pressing F1 opens a giant windows 10 advertisement.
Can someone explain to me how to make a video play in the same orientation in which I recorded it ?

Have you tried using VLC to play it? IIRC it can also rotate videos of 90 degree steps and save them.

den2k88 wrote: Have you tried using VLC to play it? IIRC it can also rotate videos of 90 degree steps That's not a real fix. I want it to play vertically on both phone, PC, and anonymous strangers' devices, irrespective of what they are
den2k88 wrote: and save them Oh? Now this is relevant to my interests ! I will investigate this more. If you are correct, I'm home free.

Couldn't figure out how to save the file in this vertical format.
Where do you click ?

Rotate your screen.
(either by software means or hardware means )

Occasionally I watch TV lying on my side and wish the TV would rotate 90 degrees.
I know this is a totally pointless reply.
Most of the time there is nothing worth watching on TV
Strike that. There never is anything worth watching on TV. Sometimes I want to do something totally pointless - that's when I watch TV.
Most of the things I do are pointless anyway.
What were we talking about again?

VLC Player can rotate it. ctrl+e to open the affect. Look under geometry.
For reencoding, maybe try avidemux.

Is that the magic word I am seeking ? i.e., "reencoding" ?

Appears to be the same thing as VLC player; i.e., he can produce the image on the screen, but he can't save that changed image into a video file which looks like that for other viewers.
I looked on the help and saw something on an internet forum, but couldn't follow the words well enough to transform them into clicks on a screed that produced any result in file that lasts
Corrections and explanations of where to click are welcome.

From following those instructions, I seem to have the one option of an "AVI" file.
Is that the best format for this purpose ?
My input video clips have the extension ".3gp" which I had never seen before I acquired this phone.
Right now I've only transformed one video clip, so I don't know if I'm telling the truth, but at the moment it appears (to the unaided and inexperienced eyes here) that this transformation costs me just a small amount in video quality.
Anyway, great explanation and I'm on my way now.
Thank you, big time, for real.
