Slowly I'm getting used to randomly changing display settings. Yesterday I even hit the jackpot twice. All settings were changed at once.
Now I have found some more things wich come and go or don't work at all.
- I can post as much as I like, but the signature does never appear. I just changed the signature again and if it appears under this post, it would work for the first time.
- I can post as much as I like, but until today I did not get the reputation point for posting. Yesterday and the days before I wrote a lot, but there is not a single entry in my reputation history. Today there are.
- I can get as many replies to the posts as I want and I even get a notification that there has been a response - most of the time. But not always.
More and more I feel like I'm in a quantum state. I exist and don't exist at the same time. Only when someone observes me, I'm heisenberged into one or the other state.
And now I'm going to log out and back in, not that this has ever helped in any way.
Edit: No signature!

My sig works, every time.
Did you change it in your settings, and if so, did you save them?
Look at your response to this: you should see "click to edit signature" which lest you change it for this message, and also lets you see the whole current sig. And below that the preview should show the sig as it will appear.
Ignore rep points, they aren;t important. regrettably, there is no cash equivalent (or I'd post more! )
I'd suggest that this need to be raised - with specific examples - with the Hamsters: Bugs and Suggestions[^] - remember to tell them exactly what hardware and software you are using to access the site, and do mention that this appears to be specific to you - I'm fine as far as I can see.

I just edited the signature in the response. The signature from the settings did not appear. The box was empty.
Just a few weeks ago I kicked about 80000 reputation points into the bucket, so that's really nothing I would cry about. It's just a remarkable symptom that the application logic could not make those entries into the database and now suddently can.
In my programs the application logic would scream bloody murder in the logs if it unexpectedly could not resolve an ID or otherwise not complete a step in the procedure.

Most probably it's something wrong with my account that sometimes prevents my settings or the signature from being found or database entries being made. I can't say why it comes and goes so randomly, but it does not look like it's a common bug. Just guessing, but it could be an ID that's stored in the view state or session that sometimes is passed correctly and sometimes it is not. And, as I wrote last time, it happens on my notebook, on the computer at work and also my desktop at home.

I lost a bunch of posting points lately - I don't care about those. I do look at the feedback points. Like most small children, I like to be praised. Or scolded. Just so I don't feel lonely.

Have a feedback - I wouldn't want you getting lonely.

Quite possibly not a chance. Best guess (from the rep graph) is that it's going to be pretty much smack-on my birthday next year. It I hit 2,000,000 on the actual day, do you really think I could shut up about it?

Would it not be a better place to post this in B&S?

If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about?
Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you
Rating helpful answers is nice, but saying thanks can be even nicer.

Yes. But then his problems will be solved. Here, we can make jokes about it.

CodeWraith, this is not that because there's not such lottery at CP.
Just post your message under Site Bugs and Suggestions forum, and one of the CP's admins will reply to it and will help you out with this problem. I personally did that the number of times and the most of my problems were successfully solved.
As for my personal replies to your helpful messages whenever you've read and replied to my posts, I always upvoted each reply message and those ones you've posted as well.
So that it's really kind of strange that reputation points were not added to your reputation. It's not so important and you might not pay much attention to this, but anyway...
And also, another possible cause is that probably, as far as I can understand, once ever you've been restricted for contributing spam or a harmful content. Thus, you'll probably need to contact the CP's team and ask them why your replies reps. points are not eventually added.

Not in fact, you normally might or might not to reply if you're actually not willing to do so, or in case when there's just nothing to say.

And also, as for me to have more reputation points, you would better to write and contribute some good article to CP. Since then, you'll have more chances to earn higher reputation. That's my advice because I reviewed your profile and noticed that you've got no articles published. Normally, the most of CP's members have at least one or more articles contributed. But, that's just my personal point of view.

It's a secret, but since nobody will probably pay any attention to us: I have been here before and had been on my way out already. I had deleted my account and wanted to move on. And then I came back for the nice and good people here. (Don't ever tell them, they might get cocky then.)

Normally, as just for me, it's time to end up this discussion, because I've got some other bunch of work to do on my plate now.
Anyway, you can proceed your discussion with other members replying your posts.
Thanks. It was very nice to have a talk with you. Good luck. Bye-bye...
