I once worked with a guy who used to work with a guy (I know...) who worked 6 months out of the year, then spent the rest of the year living as a beggar, and had been doing that for a decade. His claim was that he was making as good money, and living out of homeless shelters with free meals and accommodations.
If you have no family...or ambition...or pride...I suppose it can be a lifestyle.

The LMB had failed in the cold rather than the dish moving.
A braver man than I went up on the roof and did his thing with the hardware to replace it, and we're back. (I get nervous in thick socks - I've been up there and done it, but the slightest breath of wind and I'm hugging the chimney pots like a frightened squid.)
That surprises me - yes, it was damn cold with the wind chill, but I'd have thought they would be rated to much lower temperatures than we probably got. What's the outside temperature where you are (Australia doesn't count as we'd only get jealous)?

Never have a problem with stuff freezing outside here, instead it's rot, everything rots.
But still, prefer the warmth: 24 - 34 degrees every day year round,
shorts every day and just throw on a T shirt if going out.
Snow, phht, only place snow belongs is on a postcard.
Signature ready for installation. Please Reboot now.

Well maybe you should take the LMB to the KLF
This morning the thermometer in my car said it was -7.5 degrees Celsius outside ...

Our satellite guy had to come out mid February because the dish got buried in snow. But it was only -15C on that day. Up on the roof and raked off a bunch of snow -all fixed. Then he was on to the next house.
-11 right now.
BTW - the equipment does not get affected by the wind chill - except that it cools down faster - but if it was outside it was probably pretty close to ambient all along.
I'm pretty sure I would not like to live in a world in which I would never be offended.
I am absolutely certain I don't want to live in a world in which you would never be offended.

Fortunately, just about all of it will be in the form of rain.

You're prediction is wrong. I am not expecting any snow or rain today, thank you very much.

About one cm here.
Roads are fine, even many side roads are gritted and clear.
No idea if they will collect the bins though - probably not if the gritters are out.

It's variable here... the snow is very light and dry, and anywhere the wind gets it blows it away - so some places are almost bare of snow while in others there are drifts two feet deep!

Much the same here, but without the drifts.
Probably be good skiing snow if it was deeper - it's a very fine powder.

A couple of inches here in South East England, but not too much disruption. Total chaos further north, and in Hampshire for some strange reason.
