It won't die! I keep trying, but ... they keep on making cr@p.
This weeks gem: Qube - the worlds first smart trash can[^]
Yes! You can check your bin from your phone! How did you possibly live without this? And they only need £210,000 to start it off. Get in on the ground floor NOW! (I'll be outside, pointing and laughing)

From the comments:
Rhodri said: I donated €1 just so I could tell you how dumb this project is.
Recycling isn't hard. I have a bin that cost me £15, it has two pedals. If I have recycling in my hand I press the green pedal, if not I press the yellow one.
This process does not require any smarts. Do you really think this Qube monstrosity will make someone who isn't already inclined to recycle do so? No.
You're clearly smart people, so go apply yourself to something worth while. Ha ha! I was going to make a comment about the project failing because of confusion about 'recicled', but Rhodri nailed it.

I don't know on your pc... but on mine it says "the target of the project was not reached until december 22nd 2016"
But they still got 4k+ $

I'm not sure which part of it erodes my faith in human intelligence te most: that they raised 4K at all, or that they expected to raise 210K in just one month...

I sort out the recyclables and the rest is freak'N garbage!, what more do I need to know!
If I bought this thing I'd have to buy a bigger trash can to throw this POS into!

I might consider buying it once it gets so smart that I can throw it into itself.

I wasn't familiar with Montserrat Caballé, but this post is also timely due to the imminent release of the Freddie Mercury biopic (Bohemian Rhapsody (2018) - IMDb[^]).

Even if it's not everyone's cup of tea, one still has to appreciate Mercury's part in those songs. I never realize just how much I miss him until I hear anything of his. This is no exception.
[Edit] I didn't mean to make this all about him.

R.I.P. Why Montserrat ever collaborated with Mercury is lost on me: like garnishing a Happy Meal with pate de foie gras. When Mercury's fine voice was not submerged in the noise made by Queen, and the dreadful viva Las Vegas production numbers and arrangements, it was wonderful.

She was not too offended by it. Since it has Thunderbird, and Libre Office, she's okay with me replacing Win7. Happy days!

A few weeks before we got a new laptop for wife... I tried to make her moving away from Windows (it would make it a 500 NIS less), but even seeing the kids about 3 years now on Linux - and getting along pretty well - didn't helped...
She now using W10... A waste of the power of that Dell beauty...
