The Microsoft.VisualBasic namespace is off limits and Option Strict is on at project level.
So I guess you're right about VB.
Just make sure it's as much like C# as possible and you'll be fine

After reading the other replies you made, it looks like you were in a bad mood of sorts? Anyhow, it probably will not be the last time you vent like that.
I have been warned many times in the last 11+ years here that I am acting like an a**hole, and need to stop. Recently I was threatened with a temporary ban after pooping all over the Soapbox. That was a wake up call.
Cheers.

Very perceptive - didn't feel like a bad mood, but it was Monday morning after a wonderful weekend with family...

Never apologize. It's a sign of weakness.

Wasn't that originally attributed to John Wayne?
I'm reminded of an old "Home Improvement" episode where Tim is explaining to the guys how he and Jill have such a good marriage. He said every morning he wakes up, looks at Jill and says "Honey, I'm sorry." One of the guys asks "Why? What for?" Tim gives a few reasons, including "For having an adams apple, just for being a man."
I tried that on my wife and she just laughed.

I'm not John Wayne, but I kicked his ass a couple of times. Chuck Norris, too...

Meh...I've seen worse, but its nice to see someone be self-aware for a change.
In fairness, the initial proposition was silly (and oft-repeated). Languages are simply tools. My current favorite is C#, but that changes easily, depending on the size of the paycheck

It didn't seem that bad to me...I've seen (and on occasion said) worse here. I saw 'TIOBE' in that post and lost interest immediately. That index has already been discussed here (by that same member) and the general consensus then is that it is rubbish. It really shouldn't have been brought up again, unless the goal was to get rep points.
It does piss me off to see members get evangelical about their programming language of Choice dismissing anything else as inferior. Programming languages are tools to get a job done...between VB as C#, it all boils down to MSIL anyway. I use both but actually prefer to avoid the semi-colons and braces. IMHO, that's a better argument than the fact that a language must be garbage because it still contains a construct (on error resume next) that good programmers know to avoid. Really, you can create crappy code in any language.

But most of the truly horrendous coding honestly happens in Hindi Visual Basic...
