Ya, tried that one. Lots of problems with it. Including often losing the desktop upon logging in. Just logged in to a blank screen. Command line was the only way to fix it.

Looks interesting, but they're a major version behind the latest Unbuntu (their base distro).

You did something terribly wrong. My 12.5 years old girl works on a Fedora machine and she doesn't know how command like looks like...

I AM - It was completely idiotic that VHS won over Betamax. I'm STILL upset by that!!!

It's not a cellphone, so it's reasonably likely that you don't need a lock screen to prevent things activating when you put it in your pocket.
To get rid of it:
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Personalization\
(You might have to create the Personalization key)
- Add a new DWORD(32-bit)
- Name it NoLockScreen
- Give it a value of 1
Then it goes straight to the log-in screen

Not sure if this is still up-to-date:

Not 100% up to date, but it did give me some useful info.
Unfortunately to get access to the slider that disables the ads, I apparently have to completely disable Windows Spotlight, which then means that I can't get the pretty pictures either.

If all you want is the pretty pictures: disable the lock screen, as I described earlier, and use a screensaver to lock the machine.

But it appears like there is also one or more registry solutions:

I'll try one of those...

The second solution in the above link (registry hack) seemed to do the trick for me. I get pretty pictures, but no ads (as far as I can tell right now anyway)!

You may alter the registry here: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP
Sign the framework uninstalled (or backup registry and remove the entries)...
