Two questions in one today:
- Do you prefer tea or coffee?
...and by tea, I mean proper, English-style black tea with milk and optional sugar - none of this weird fruity cr*p they have here in the US, and certainly not the Liptons, bottom of the tea warehouse floor sweepings, "ice tea" that they also, blasphemously, claim is tea.
..and by coffee, I mean any old cr*p with enough cream and sugar in it.
- Does tea really taste better in a proper porcelain or fine china cup?
...I can drink coffee out of any old mug (as long as it's big enough) but I prefer my tea out of porcelain or fine china, if possible.
Note: People who only drink soda and/or water need not reply.

Quite right, of course. Correction applied.

I drink tea at home (different kinds depending on what I decide to buy, black, green, old or new, Chinese or Indian or Japanese...)
Mostly lightly sweetened with no milk (mostly).
If I make chai, I add milk.
I drink it in a large china bowl.
I drink coffee at the office; 1 large cup in the morning made with the espresso machine.
I'd rather be phishing!

Forogar wrote: the Liptons, bottom of the tea warehouse floor sweepings I take it that you've never tasted the Israeli Wissotzky tea.
Forogar wrote: Do you prefer tea or coffee?
Both. Tea with a dash of milk in the morning with breakfast, Coffee (Turkish, black) during the rest of the day.
Forogar wrote: Does tea really taste better in a proper porcelainchina cup? Tea tastes fine in anything but paper cups, which are an abomination in the sight of the Lord.

Coffee is a morning ritual and is not optional. Sweetened iced tea (yes Lipton) is the only way I will drink it. During the day/evening, if it's not tea, it's Mountain Dew.
I have never drank tea from a porcelain cup, but can't claim preference of one container type over another.
I also dislike the fruity cr*p they serve in some areas of the US.

So you have all these criteria for tea, but:

So, coffee can be crap but tea has to be qualitee? What's up with that?

Regarding Liptons, yes we do have actual English tea available at least where I live in the US.
Regarding coffee, you should really expand your perspective. Coffee favors (OK, favours) differ by variety and growing region. I prefer Guatemala, Colombia, Ethiopia, Kenya, and Sumatra depending on my preference at the time; and only the Arabica not the Robusta variety.
I only add sugar to low grade coffee. And similar to tea, none of this fruity, favored c***; though sometimes I will add a Star Anise pod to the grounds.

Coffee in the morning (2 Cups). Half and Half and one sugar. I like my coffee strong enough to allow me to see the future.
Tea in the afternoon. Earl Grey. No milk/cream, and no sugar. Occasionally I will add honey.

Coffee should be strong enough that the spoon stands up until it dissolves. Saves having to take an iron supplement.
