AI/ML ???
Apart from only shaving once a week I never even made it to Fuzzy Logic.
Sigh, buzzwords, need to block that chain of thought, get their heads out of the clouds.

Unless there is a show-stopper of a catastrophic nature we are now seeing just the tip of the iceberg.
My hope is the so-called "futurists" stop talking about all of the great things AI could do for us so it is allowed to develop at a reasonable and prudent pace. My fear is AI becomes embraced far too quickly and it comes back to bite.

If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about?

That sounds like a good thing to me.

I am a bit concerned about how it will "cure" us

The "let loose in the wild" scenarios are endless and terrifying. Think targeted civilians. It happens in every conflict.

Machine learning is just a fancy word for statistics.
AI is the same as Machine learning, but shiny.

When I did my first Python ML tutorial, I thought "Hang on a second!"
Having previously worked in medical data analysis I realised that what I was learning was how to build statistical models similar to those the statisticians had been building in my previous job.

I don't know if this is what they are looking for.
www.eggplantsoftware.com or eggplant.io - automation / testing.
You script to the UI. No hooks to API or behind the UI.
Script it to find things on the screen (image matching or OCR).
I have not worked with their AI bits yet. It is supposed to string bits of UX fn() into a workflow to test, then give the results.
I don't know if I really consider it to be AI - you write the script and set up the possible flows. It walks the various combinations and permutations defined and gives results.
If they are wanting to test the model that AI/ML builds - dunno.

There is very little AI/ML that doesn't have to be tailored ("trained") to handle a particular problem.
Then there's the selection of the training data, sampling, etc.

Also AI is not necessarily a deterministic system which has predictable results.
It is deterministic in that given the same input the same output will be created, however it is not predictable since how the result is arrived at is generally too complex for a human to understand given all the weightings and dependencies of those weightings.
I am sure someone else could explain it much better than me but I remember reading somewhere about an AI system that was trained to recognise pictures of cats and one pixel being different could make the difference between the image being recognised or not as a cat.
Debugging complex systems is hard enough - how do you debug a neural network?

AI is about probabilities. Just comparing Felix and the Cheshire Cat? Those are good, limited problem spaces.

Christmas present?
Nah, just quietly biding time (away from shops) till it becomes Christmas past.

I wish.
Her work has decided to do a lame-ass "Secret Santa" where everybody buys a pressie for around £5 and they all go in a box and you grab one at random.
So I went to the supermarket today with a new item on my shopping list, along with the bread and milk: "£5 worth of cr@p"
To the "smellies" gift aisle I go ...
