Okay, but can you understand how the average 76-year-old with one good eye, infected with rabid curiosity, might stumble over the lack of apparent connection between MDV and Nelek ?
Can my acronym be DALI ?
cheers, Bill

Considering it's France, all Apple needs to do is claim it's phones are having a work-slowdown or are on strike. Possibly supply a little yellow phone cover for each, too?

I got a root scaling done without anesthetic today because I didn't want to wait to be numb.
That's how bad I wanted to be away from people. It wasn't even the dentists visit. It was that there were people everywhere (it's a large, busy office)
David Bowie must have been thinking of me when he wrote I'm Afraid of Americans (and Rebel Rebel for that matter but that's a different story)
I don't regret the sore mouth, as I am back in my lair sooner than I would otherwise be. Meh.

Not wanting to be around people isn't paranoia, it's perfectly normal.
There's a probably about the same number of people who want to be alone most of the time as those who can't be alone for long -- and an equal split for each grade betwixt one and t'other.
Thinking you're a nutter, when all you really are is just another human, is the only craziness going on, here (there may be an element of narcissism involved, but that ain't insanity, either; it's a survival thing).
The grass is not greener. You can take everyone's word for that.

Well no. What you're talking about and what I'm talking about are two different things. I'm referring to the paranoia - the feeling that those around me are out to do me harm or otherwise have ill intent, and are taking special interest in me.
I'm diagnosed schizoaffective, Mark. Despite your comment, I am not making up my mental health condition, and suggesting I am is uncalled for.

Telling someone that they're worrying about nothing is not an accusation of anything.
Besides, with any "mental illness", you need to go at least as far as getting a third or fourth opinion. Psychology is not a science, and if a shrink tells patients that they have a psychosis, chances are that they will develop it.

This is the statement I'm referring to. My husband read it too (i'm on a 55" screen) and came away with the same impression.
If that's not what you mean then frankly, I don't know what you meant by that.
I've already been diagnosed by several professionals, Mark. I don't need your input on how to care for myself.

When we moved to Texas, we got a house out in an unincorporated area, where you could stand on the roof and see Bell, Coryell, and Lampasas counties. VERY quiet neighborhood, each house on at least two acres, etc etc etc. I loved it.
My wife started to hate it within a year. Too far away from people, boring, etc etc etc. So we moved to Europe.
Advance the clock 10 years, and now my wife says "I understand why you don't want to live too near anyone else. I hate people. They're all idiots. We need to build a house away from the city, get away from all these #$#@$! people."
|
|
|
|
|
My wife's from a city of 20-odd million people (and counting), so, when we moved to a tiny town of 3,000 people, she was expecting to hate it.
Turns out that the only thing she hates about it is the few people who are a pain in the @rse (which factors out by the number of inhabitants, wherever you are).
The only reason she'd even think about moving back to a city is the availability of shops, restaurants, and stuff in general. To be around more people? Not a chance.

Tried not to reply, but..

It was that there were people everywhere (it's a large, busy office) That's agorafobia or misantropic (or a mix), not paranoia. It's paranoia when you check your wallet after the anesthetic and check the time.
..which you should not do in front of them. Trust is a nice romantic term, like wisdom; that's for idealists. I don't trust my code, I test and measure.
