Now if they could just get bag pipes here on earth to do that!
Young enough to know I can.
Old enough to know I shouldn't.
Stupid enough to do it anyway!

There once was a man from Wuhan
Where fluids from storage tanks ran
He caught the bug, China gave us a hug
And now we stay home when we can
or riffing Dr. Seuss
I do not like the virus Sam
I do not like it from Wuhan
I do not like it with the flu
I even like it less than you
I do not like the virus, man
I do not like it, Sam I am.
I have haikus too but they are NSFW

I wanted to write a blues song, but can't get any farther than:
Woke up this morning,
had to stay inside.

That's a happy blues. The sad one goes
Didn't wake up this morning...

I had joined a band right before the lockdowns hit here. We were able to get two rehearsals in and we started writing a sing called, "We Got Them Quarantine Blues". I think the singer has a few verses written now.
"They have a consciousness, they have a life, they have a soul! Damn you! Let the rabbits wear glasses! Save our brothers! Can I get an amen?"

But I think I can proceed through life happily enough without knowing.

Dammit, you made me check it.
Seems there is no agreement on this, according to Merriam-Webster it is Haiku.
Oxford claims haiku and haikus are both fine.
Cambridge says haiku.
According to MacMillan it's haiku.
But Heinemann also means that both are fine.

Haven't you heard, it's now politically incorrect to point out where a disease originated from. Something about "victimization culture", or so-such BS.
So don't link the Wuhan flu with Wuhan.
Don't link MERS with the Middle East.
Don't link the Spanish flu with Spain.
Don't link Ebola with the river in Congo.
Don't talk about Lou Gehrig's, or Legionnaire's disease...I'm sure I'm missing plenty.

I think it depends on context, personally, but that's as much as I'll say for fear of turning this into a political thread.

I know exactly what you mean.
Your response demonstrates how we're no longer living in a free world. People don't have to self-censor in a free world. Not that I'm pressing the issue--just pointing it out. It's kinda sad.

It’s a five minute walk from my house to the pub. Yet it is a 45 minute walk from the pub to my house.
The difference is staggering!

Staggering is fine. Trouble starts when it is crawling! Clumsy people step on your fingers.

I like it !
It reminds me of an old Russian proverb :
The church is near but the road is icy.
The bar is far but we will walk carefully.
