I find a couple of "news from Build" much more interesting that any build video I could find.
I started to have some doubt when I saw the event scheduling, all the event titles look rather bland an uninspiring...
But later I found some summary talking about .NET5, WinUI3, MAUI and MVU, all of that was cool!

Another thought: as Garfield is a bit like Garfunkel, he could sing:
Quote: Hello darkness, my old friend
I've come to talk with you again

My old mother never cared to listen to the lyrics of popular music; she knew little more that the title of the song. So for thirty years, she thought the song was praising the silence. When I forced the lyrics upon her, she was truly shocked.

Even funnier: Dutch singers Nick & Simon are doing a TV series about Simon and Garfunkel and performed one of their songs in a Jewish restaurant in New York, they were applauded, but when they asked if anyone knew Simon and Garfunkel nobody had ever heard of them!
(or they did not want to admit it )

I make them with baked potatoes, allowed to cool then grated. The idea is to reduce the liquid content and concentrate the potato flavour, so the hash browns crisp up nicely when fried.
I still haven't got them quite right yet though ...

Thank you very much. I will try the follwing next time:
a.) Peel raw potatoes
b.) Grate them
c.) Rinse them in a strainer
d.) Squeeze them 'slightly enough' by hand
c.) Fry in butter with a lot of bacon, ham and egg parallel

Friend of a friend told him the best hash browns were made from leftover potato salad.
Never tried it though...

I can imagine that this fellow told that!
The Norwegian national dish, "fårikål", is a mutton and cabbage stew made with a lot of whole black pepper corns. When my parents served that to foreign guests, my dad always told with a straight face that those corns were the real delicacy. He used to make sure to tell it when mom made a trip to the kitchen - otherwise, she would have stopped the joke.
And then, some crazy proposals turn out to be great! In one Woody Allen movie (I don't remember which one), Allen is out at a pizza place with some young girl. The waiter comes with a pizza, looks at the couple from one side, then from another side, and finally goes up to them: "It must be you ordering a pizza with ..." and then lists about twenty diffrent fillings. When the waiter has left, Allen comments: "He forgot the coconut!"
This episode made me curious, so next time I made a pizza with a ground meat filling, I tried to fry the meat with shredded coconut before putting on the pizza. It was deicious! Since then, I have often used coconut on my pizza. When I tell people, the generally react with a greater shock than if you tell you use pineapple on your pizza!
(Some people from India give me an assuring nod: In their cusine, coconut milk is often used with mutton, so they accept that it can be good with beef as well, even if they are not familiar with beef, being Hindus.)

Tbh I haven't had a lot of luck cooking hashbrowns either way - cook them after they've been shredded and *frozen* and they'll turn out fine. Otherwise they get brown and mushy.

I heard once that the secret is to put them in the fridge for a while, which will take the moisture out of them. I've never tried it...

There was a discussion about a week and a half ago that sidetracked into triple cooked poatao chips, The Lounge[^]. This post, and also the YouTube video linked in the post, talks a lot about cooling potatoes in the fridge to get the moisture out.
