Yikes. You could drive around your neighborhood and wipe every bit of magnetic media in the area.

There actually are regulations for shipping magnetic materials.

Sure they do, but more as a redundant backup instrument and to confirm that the electronics are not in phantasyland. No problems as long as both agree within a certain margin of error.

It's normally pretty good - I probably put it on badly, so the metal wasn't fully on the magnet.

Plus, having followed the link, I do want to be able to get the phone out of the car - and indeed the car out of a carwash should I use one.

At least the guys from your local post office will want to deliver it personally and shake your neck.

Got a new phone for my wife last Christmas. She opened the box, my 6-year-old son came near her while bouncing around (Christmas excitement), hit her, she dropped the phone, glass and a bit of LCD crashed. Total duty time without accident : 0 minute.
We had to replace the LCD for 85€ ... for a 120€ phone. I do prefer repairing instead of buying new whenever possible, but ... damn.

My last two smart 'phones have been Cat - both IP 68. My previous two feature 'phones were also IP68. They all still work despite a very hard life - dropping, sinking, swimming, leaving in tropical sun for a couple of hours, even demonstrating their waterproofness in a tankard of ale.
Pay more up-front, but all pretty much indestructible.

I have no idea why the emperor would send an inexperienced level 1 character on an important mission, but he did. 24 years ago and to this day not a single player can claim to have talked to every NPC or to have even seen more than 10% of the game's content.
Daggerfall had it all. Huge, randomly generated dungeons, an awkward UI, sluggish 320 x 200 software rendering and lots of bugs that could send your character into a very special plane of Oblivion.
Since B-Soft seems to have lost the source code of the game, this has never changed. Loyal servants of the emperor now have written a completely new game engine (in C#, as I heard) that uses Unity for rendering, fixed the bugs, added tons of new options, modernized the UI and now even allows mods.
So, if you are afraid of nothing, then get yourself Daggerfall Unity and serve the emperor (or not, it's up to you). Here is a video that explains where to get it, how to install it and explains all the options and mods. There is even a checkbox to let you see some boobs.

I received a phishing email that's pretending to be from my cable provider.
However, the link they want me to click leads to the provider's legitimate domain!
it is https://www.xfinity.com
I can't understand how they are expecting to catch me if I go to Comcast's domain?
Does anyone have an idea?
EDIT:
I went into Windows Sandbox and went to the link. And it redirected me to a completely different domain - the scammer's domain!
How did it do that?
FURTHER EDIT:
OK I figured it out. This is the complete scam link:
https://www.xfinity.com/learn/signin-cima?code=0.ac.jHKtzD&state=aHR0cHM6Ly9mZWVsbGl4cy5jb20vP2Jz
You might notice that it very well hides the actual target domain name. That is ".ac" for the Ascension Islands.
I can see many people being fooled by this when they hover over the link in the email.
The difficult we do right away...
...the impossible takes slightly longer.

So there's something in the signin-cima page that interprets the "code" and "state" parameters?
