But ... but ... who will feed the hamsters, and change their bedding?

Only some of them are Killer Attack Hamsters - the rest are standard Robo Hamsters[^] which don't eat much meat.

I'm a serious fan. I've read the Foreigner series several times (all 20-odd books), and I have to ration myself to reading the Chanur saga every three years or so.
I keep looking for a 'come together' series of novels...

My first cat (well, MY first cat, not the family cat) was named Pyanfar Chanur.
I don't remember how many of the Foreigner series I read. I was buying them as they came out, then stopped for quite a while.
I was going to go out and get the ebooks of the whole series...then saw how many there were.

Well, technically I suppose it's vegan ... in that you consume your own cells every day anyway, and no animals have been harmed in the manufacture.
Pretty sure it's a case of "just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should" though.

They should put "It's not technically cannibalism" in big letters across the kits like "I can't believe it's not butter"

It was only in wine that he laid down no limit for himself, but he did not allow himself to be confused by it.

Given the way popular culture currently deifies and devours its media-stars, this will, inevitably, lead to commercial distribution of licensed celebrity cell-lines, and customized cuts of meat derived from them.
You will be able to select from Kardashian Rump Roast, extra bloody Conor McGregor lean-select chops, Boris bangers, Merkel Bratwurst, Macron veal, Trudeau bacon, Trump tripe, etc.

Very astute - and why stop at consumable?
How about just growing the rest of the 'organism' and, when ripe, use him/her into an orgasm?
Eventually, it will give a whole new meaning to when you tell someone to go Fu...th...selves.
Horrifically, you put this train of thought into my head - I realize you didn't mean to. Now, perhaps, we're both scarred.

Hmm. Reminds me of a science fiction story I read a long time ago. A ship's surgeon is the only survivor of a crash on a planet. His crewmates' bodies are destroyed in the crash, and the ship's recycling systems are severely damaged. He has adequate air and water, but only a small amount of food, which is soon gone.
Fortunately most of the equipment and supplies in the medical bay have survived.
When he is finally rescued after many months, the rescue team finds him in the med bay on the operating table. Both of his legs and his right arm are gone, and he is in the process of removing two of the fingers on his left hand...

About three days for us - and no sign of stopping either.
Still, could be worse - at least it's not snow!

As I sat in my gloom, I suddenly heard a voice: "Cheer up, things could be worse"
So, I cheered up. Sure enough, things got worse.
