Good to know. I just posted a question as well.
I have lived with several Zen masters - all of them were cats.
His last invention was an evil Lasagna. It didn't kill anyone, and it actually tasted pretty good.

We're mostly a friendly bunch!
The only thing to remember is: we don't do your homework! So if that's what you are after - or that's what your question looks like - then you'll get much the same here as at SO. If you are trying and it's giving you a problem, then ask away and show us what you have got - we'll see what we can do to help you.
Equally, if you are a seasoned developer with a problem the same applies: show us where you problem is, explain where you are stuck, and we'll be all over it!
Just remember that we can't see you screen, can't access your HDD, and can't read you mind - all we get is exactly what you type to work with. So if we come back requesting more info, there is a reason; we aren't trying to wind you up! Asking questions is a skill, and a lot of people haven't developed it: Asking questions is a skill[^]
Oh, and don't ask programmign questions here: as Peter said, use the appropriate forum[^] or QuickAnswers[^]. The former is best for "discussions", the latter for quick solutions (it's only a little text box, after all). There are also articles and tips on ... well pretty much anything ... which are worth checking if you need something more complicated: Site Map - articles[^]
A quick Google "my question here site:codeproject.com" can help a lot as well.
Kick back, take your shoes off, and grab a - we do want to help and enjoy ourselves!

Excellent. In that case, read my mind right now and gimme an answer. Urgentz. Feel free to ignore all the stuff about about being chaotic evil. That's just the default header.

The truth is that most of my thoughts at the moment are centered around eating, sleeping, 3D printing, repairing old computers, building new old computers and bringing the Wraithmobile back to life after having to let it stand for a whole year. Not much room for any noteworthy evil.

Welcome!
The best way to get an answer on the internet is by posting the wrong answer.
People will flock to point out how wrong (and stupid) you are and what you should've done

But that's SO standard procedure, for all questions.
Facsimile of the typical question on SO:
Q: "Hey I have system Z with environment Y and constraint K, I need to do X but I'm banging my head there. What am I doing wrong?"
A (top voted): "You should never do X, it is wrong, pollutes the planet and defiles tombs."
A: "System Z sucks, use system J"
A: "Rewrite from scratch, environment Y is no longer supported, environment W is much better"

Welcome to codeproject.
As other have said... there are problems all over the internet. But here we actively try to keep them at minimum and except from exceptions I am glad to say, that we (the community) manage it pretty nicely.
There are a lot of users that participate here for long, long time. I already am 14+ years here myself... that should give you a tiny hope
There are a couple of interesting forums in the site that are worth to stay even when you are not asking for help. You already found this one (the lounge), but there are others. I.e. The Insider News[^], The Weird and The Wonderful[^] too.
If you find anything wrong with the site or have an idea, you might communicate it in Bugs and Suggestions[^]
If you think on participating in the site sharing something too, I would strongly recommend you to have a look to the codeproject FAQs[^], specially the ones about spam, plagiarism and how to use the tools that the site offers.

Those appear to be very interesting policies to me. From that perspective, they seem like a very good company to work for.
-edit- Please note the title of the post and my comment. Particularly the word, "policies." That word is plural and there are more policies described in the article than just the one in its title.

That is true. Their other policies look pretty good too though. Regardless, it is not involuntary servitude.
