His reply was what I would have given had he not - at least the part about turkish style. That, in fact, was my method-of-choice for coffee for years - real coffee fresh brewed in your cup. It doesn't get any better. Make sure it's finely ground so it settles and stays settled.
Now as for "instant". Starbucks came out with some "instant" coffee that's just about real. It's also a bit costly. Don't worry about that as the turkish option is just as good.
Now here's some fun trivia (relevant because Daniel Pfeffer is Israeli): I had an Israeli friend - I met her at a Dude Ranch in upstate NY when we were both about 16. I learned something interesting: in Israel, they call all instant coffee 'nescafe'. Not the brand, but as a pun: 'nes', in Hebrew, means "miracle" - as she explained it was considered a miracle if it tasted anything like coffee.

I know your pain, first hand.
Coffee and ice are all that I really need. Coffee, well, for the caffeine, and ice for the seltzer. Both are my favorite liquid refreshments during the day, especially while I am head's down coding, etc.
Yes, coffee is a refreshment.

No worries.
Cowboy coffee:
Boil water in pan
dump in coffee
remove from fire
let grounds settle to the bottom
pour a cup.
Worked for years.

Cowboy coffee. Had to do that myself a while back. Working on new house and forgot to bring coffee maker. Its an 1-3/4hour drive between houses.
I'm not sure how many cookies it makes to be happy, but so far it's not 27.

Cowboys put the ground coffee in a sock before boiling. So it could be used many times.

Ah yes, one of the benefits of living with a strong-willed wife. We have his and hers coffee-makers since we don't drink the same recipe and the times one of us has had to wait while the other's brewed weren't... pretty.

Of course you have more than one.
Right?
I have 3 active ones and a couple spares. Luckily moka pots are quite compact.

for the last 2-3 weeks my junk mail has doubled each day. I attribute this to COVID and having to stay home and shop online more, but why starting in the last 2-3 weeks? very weird. Took the jerks all this time to recognize me?
Someone is selling email addresses, and it isn't me. I have not created any new accounts since COVID started, so I have my suspicions (Amazon, Google, Microsoft... the usual suspects).

FleaBay, perhaps? That's where my old mail address leaked out over some careless seller.
