The Mayans' days weren't numbered. (What?)

If the Mayans were dyslexic, they woul've been Myans.

Oh neat. I've got a couple of friends that suffer its effects. I always thought it caused portions of text to be erroneously re-arranged. Hadn't realized it also caused letters to be lost. I found a "d" and an "a" that seem to have your name on em, here'go fella.
Of course, the ironic thing is none of the other posts spelled dyslexic properly!

and, hoping. for all of you, and your families, friends, and loved ones ...
it will be a happier new year than this past year, so eclipsed by the disruption of the pandemic.
meanwhile, i will continue to relish, as i know you do, the wonderful intellectual playground CodeProject provides.
cheers, Bill

"That's the best [something] I've seen all year" doesn't have much impact for a while.
Saw an example of an awe-inspiring egg-corn 2 days ago. There was a supporter of Donald that was dressed up and frankly, looked a bit like a Dr Seuss character - perhaps the Cat In The Hat.
Somehow, the word we use to describe a method of solving/calculating something was turned into something that seemed to describe a lady and repetitious behaviour. You see, she kept talking about Olga's broken Rhythm. They broke the Olga Rhythm you see!
It is the best egg-corn I've seen all year. Shame it was the 2nd of January instead of a few days earlier though.

Did you hear that an iPhone and a firework were arrested on New Year's Eve?
One was charged and the other was let off.

I hovered over the "roll eyes" icon for a while before going with a simple thumbs-up.

It is such an old joke, hence my groan.

I'd never heard it before!

And there was the tour guides description of a painting in an art museum: Happy Nude? Yeah!
As for the iPhone and the Firework? One thing they do have in common, which is that with either of them you're liable to get burned.

They were arrested after fighting in the sea. They were scrolling around, sparks flying. One was charged with assaulty battery; the other was not let off, but was given a rocket.
FTFY.

Thank you CP staffers and regulars for creating a friendly and helpful climate here.
I just got done working really hard on ostensibly cross platform project but i couldn't compile on windows because my windows machine is down, and then @Randor came along with a shiny MSVC compiler and some C++ expertise and put in serious work helping me shore up my code.
And that's the sort of thing I have actually come to count on here, and it occurred to me that I do just now, and so that is the inspiration for this message.
Y'all are great. This site is great. There's magic here.

You aren't getting rid of me that easily.
In seriousness though, I love to create, and so working inspires more creation. That and really, I only work part time, but in spurts, so I absences shall be abrupt and short lived.
You're stuck with me.
