I have to recommend these AMD APUs for anyone considering a new machine.
They are absolute monsters.
I have a Ryzen 7 4750G
I have fallout 4 running with no video card, smoother and better looking than on my PS4
While I'm running a Linux VM
And browsing the web.
This machine is like, "what else do you got? let's play two games at the same time!"
Honestly, gaming isn't why I bought this machine at all.
But I'm amazed that it can render FO4 at a decent framerate without a video card.
My last machine wouldn't even render Fallout 3 without a video card in full screen on this display at a decent framerate.
I may as well be running a nintendo emulator as far as this PC is concerned. The fans didn't even speed up.

Did you self-assemble your machine or bought it from one of the reputable brands like Dell?
I cannot find any reputable brand that sells AMD consumer PC.

I bought the base system from a company who sells off of Amazon. The brand is "CUK" (stands for Computer Upgrade King)
The only major problem I had with them is secondary HDD was jammed into the case such that the mounting rails are jammed and I can't remove the drive. For now I don't care, even though it was frustrating. I would have sent it back but I couldn't afford the downtime.
However, given the nature of the problem - it was an assembly problem and not a manufacturing problem, I would buy from them again. Their computers consistently get good reviews on amazon, and they use good parts. It's an asus motherboard, for example

In Germany there are a couple of online shoprs that let you configure the PC as you want and offer almost everything (another thing is if they are now available or not).
There are two that work with the most known tech / computer magazines here and offer a "recommended" PC from the magazines using the hardware winners in all the benchmarks they have done the last year.
My next machine will be similar to the second best of those recommendations, changing a couple of things.

It seems this year AMD is the way to go...
I have been trying to get a Thinkpad T14s with AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 4750U Processor since start of last September, but no stock, at least here in Spain. They have even been retired from their web page...
Till this Friday night, when the T14s came back to the web page! YAY! Immediately sent a mail to my Lenovo contact at my distributor... let's see what will happen...
Crossing fingers...

Good luck. I've got the G version of that APU and I *love* it.

That is the biggest reason why I didn't bought my new PC yet. The second one...after all this time, depending on when the hardware I will get available, waiting a bit more then might be a big difference in the price too.

Some of us have known this for a couple of years, or at least ever since Ryzen came out.
I have 2 Threadrippers (1950X and 3970X) and an Epyc 7702P. No APU but damn sure twice the processor Intel offers (with ECC) at half the cost of Intel.
But if your fans aren't even speeding up you're not working your machines very hard
What has impressed me even more is the power consumption which has plummeted in Ryzen/Epyc while performance has increased.
The only complaint I have is PCIe4 chipset (on the 3970X box) requiring one of those little whiny fans. It isn't loud but it is noticeable.

I have nothing but love for this APU. My only regret is I couldn't wait for the launch prices to come down to get something even newer, but my APU is still the 3rd fastest CPU/APU on the benchmark site i checked. Woo! I didn't pay that much for this machine.
The fact that it will play fallout 4 on ultra, with the high res texture pack, and with no video card is just amazing to me. I'm not even really a gamer (except i play fallout periodically) but I know enough to respect the kind of processing power that makes something like that possible.
