Have some more from me. You gave me some when I reached 10000. You're only 25x my points. Your surname's anagram is definitely wrong (I remember you using it as a CCC several years ago).

I was in your place once, for a very brief moment, I think

Only CCC I've ever made though
I also guessed "opera" from some weird character "art" once so I was next, think I made some similar "art" that time, which was guessed right away.

Mine doesn't wait for dessert before doing that: he does it before and after eating. (And would probably do it during if he thought he'd get away with it...)

Get the EU to have a stake in keeping the plant running[^] instead of lawsuits to against them to subsidize their expenses.
I do hope, if this goes through, that the US doesn't kick in money to build the plant unless it's to be built in the US. I mean, really, do you think the EU would kick in to subsidize building a plant in the US.
A subsidy is not an investment with a return; just a give-away: the jobs will be in the EU, and surely the VAT - so it's pretty clear who's benefiting from the site location.
Now, some good fallout from such a project would be putting Asia (China) on notice that the west really is pulling out of being held by the short-hairs for, well, just about everything.

W∴ Balboos, GHB wrote: A subsidy is not an investment with a return In theory it is; doesn't have to be a monetary return, but it should have some measurable benefit, like lower crime rates or similar.
W∴ Balboos, GHB wrote: just a give-away Yeah, that's how it goes in practice
But it's not real money we giving, it's fiat, and there's a lot more where that's coming from. According to our economists, breaking a window is a gift for the economy, especially if you wounded in the process.
W∴ Balboos, GHB wrote: the jobs will be in the EU, and surely the VAT If in the Netherlands, they'll hardly be taxed. Because "jobs", and if we no tax-haven, those jobs go somewhere else. So, we a tax-paradise for those kind of companies.
No, not much jobs; they put their headquarters here for taxes, and the real plants somewhere else.
W∴ Balboos, GHB wrote: Now, some good fallout from such a project would be putting Asia (China) on notice that the west really is pulling out of being held by the short-hairs for, well, just about everything. Yeah, well, we subsidize China, since it is a third world country, according to definitions.

Your inferences from this article are even more confused than your usual.
1) Intel's EU and US "initiatives" to seek subsidies are completely separate: the inference the US would even consider subsidizing a plant in the EU is lunacy.
2) both US and EU may view in-country major chip fabs and capacity as a strategic (military, economic) investment given global geo-politics (read: ascendency of China; danger of chip shortages). That's the big carrot Intel is trying to dangle.
I find the omission of any mention of Russia in the article: interesting.

The point I find most interesting is yet to be seen: will the EU find fine Intel, down the road, with some sort of anti-trust accusation as punishment (read that EU money-mining) for being more successful than their own companies?

Dordeduh - Descânt[^]
Dordeduh is a folk influenced black metal band from Romania.
The musicians come from another Romanian folk metal band, Negura Bunget, but I find Dordeduh is the better of the two.
Their (relative) hit single, Dojana, was just folk music with traditional instruments, no metal in sight.
So anyway, earlier this year I was wondering if Dordeduh would ever release a new album.
It was kind of a coincidence that I thought about them as I liked their previous (debut) album, but it's not a favorite or anything (except Dojana, which was also SOTW at the time).
And suddenly, they announced a new album.
So far they've released three new songs of the upcoming album and this is one of them.
Took a little getting used to, but it's pretty amazing.
Looking forward to the album (and hopefully they'll do a Dojana part 2 as well)

Ok, so that one took me by surprise because I totally misread your post (I kind of skimmed it), and I thought that Dordeduh was only doing folk music.
I just finished The Warning's Lunario concert (again) when you posted your SotW and was tossing up whether to listen to it now or later. Glad I played it.
For other SotW listeners, play it with Closed Captions on.
