Refactoring code of a departed (to another job) team mate of, shall we say, limited talent I found a piece of code which is embody exactly what I think of typical over engineered multi layered typical web dev code. You know where you do plenty of useless copy of the same object to various layer of DTO in the same application...
Well, in that case in the SaveToDb(objectModel) method, the objectModel is copied to an intermediary DTO that is only ever used in that single method, after which the intermediary DTO is saved in the database. I didn't make that one up!
Anyway nuked it!

That sort of thing always smells of refactoring, and the original guy either wasn't confident enough that removing the now-useless code was a safe thing to do, or couldn't/wouldn't do the research needed to prove it. Or he had no clue that it was now useless.

I doubt that sneaking aboard a ship dressed as "Indians" (AKA Native Americans) would work very well for them...

And how much more trade do you have with GB than with the EU?
You just keep shooting at your feet there fella. You’re sure to hit one of them soon!

A few days ago, my computer was poisoned and the screen kept flickering after I turned it on. I want to ask my friend for help, but my friend said that another friend did it on purpose. [DELETED]

But what will it do to the computer?

My laptop has been hanging at random a few minutes after startup.
It's a complete freeze and nothing works after that except pushing the physical restart button.
It never freezes again after the restart.
It only does this sometimes, like two times this past week (with multiple startups a day) and not at all the week before that.
Since it's usually something like three or four minutes after startup you'd expect to see something going wrong, like something in the event viewer, but there's nothing really out of the ordinary.
Software freezing an entire machine like that is possible, but unlikely I guess.
So it could be a hardware problem.
Something with a HD or maybe memory.
ing impossible to fix this sh*t if you're not intimately familiar with troubleshooting computers and even then it may be a guess as broken hardware may not always show
Last time something like this happened, it was my SSD, which I only discovered because it wasn't being used or shown by the system at all (I simply remembered I had an SSD).
So... I guess business as usual until it either fixes itself or the laptop becomes unusable
