The best approach is to try and eliminate
as many letters as possible through the first 3 or 4 choices you make. You can then get the solution, as it is not a word in common use.
That means that hard mode is going to be difficult though looking at my process, you would think that I solve the puzzle in hard mode. I do, except that I don't turn on hard mode in Wordle.

The Windows 11 "taskbar" is disgusting. It should be at the left of the screen, with real icons, with text, progress, etc. They downgraded my developer PC to a bloody iPhone.

Well done!

I use the same two words as starters most of the time. Most of the time they work well for me.

My two regular starters are doing pretty well too. Only bombed out once, when there were about 6 choices for the last unknown.

Night is falling (in this part of the world), yet the only April Fool joke I've seen today is L.A.F.A.B.L.E (two threads down).
Has there been any good ones in other parts of the world?
Norwegian media used to have a rich April Fool tradition up until 10-15 years ago, making up some great stories. Then some of the newspapers started competing about being the first to disclose all the pranks in the other newspapers. It started in the paper newspaper age: Those coming to the street at lunchtime summarized the pranks in all morning newspapers; the evening newspapers included the lunchtime papers as well in their walkthrough, usually taking up far more space than their own April 1st joke.
As Internet newspapers took over, the joke summaries moved to your morning coffee. Only rarely would you see the real prank story before you saw it mentioned in a summary. So there is no "fool" element left, no suspense: No one ever gets fooled anymore, because every newspaper makes big first page headlines to tell how clever they are at disclosing all the pranks in the nation.
So the fun went out of it. Nowadays, no one cares to make any good April Fool joke in this country. I really hope that the tradition is alive and well in other countries
I still think that one of the best made cases is the BBC 1957 story: Spaghetti harvesting[^]. I have met Brits who fiercely deny that anyone at all was fooled by this story. Reactions experienced by BBC tell differently.

Honestly, the last 2 years in the US have been so bizarre that any April Fool joke seems tame.
Our "news" media, politicians, fringe groups and celebrities have exceeded even the best satirists.
|
|
|
|
|
Politics aside, I am sure everyone around the world can say the last 2 years have been bizarre, at the least.

CVE-2022-22965 and CVE-2022-22963 would be some pretty good jokes if they weren't real

Political correctness, wokeness, and other trends in society have destroyed humor, which of course has killed the April Fools joke and prank legacy.

Over here in the Netherlands the ANWB (federation of drivers) had a nice one: getting married in ANWB style

Another one from Holland was given to us by the weather.
After the warmest March on record, we got more snow on the morning of April 1st than we had all winter!
Ah well!

I need a site host with a modest enough cost that i can justify it to Himself (as well as myself). I don't need anything fancy, but i do want some control. Preferably i can stick a docker container on it.
I heard GoDaddy is no bueno these days, but i don't know if I'd rely on that statement.
Does anyone here have any recent experience with hosting that can share?
I already have a domain name, and I'd prefer to keep it with my current provider.

GoDaddy? I think they are still in the top 10 and getting mostly positive reviews.
