I must be missing something here, don't understand this thread

I don't know what a Roomba is

Roomba Tech is actually pretty advanced.
I wouldn't be surprised if it could be made to read ouiji board characters.
Just need ouiji board algorithm to provide e-seance results.

You need to put the letters closer to the couch, so the device hits a lot more of them while "bumping" into the couch.
you could setup a webcam... Collect all the video... And then sell the pieces that spell interesting things to interested parties. (for gags only, LOL)...

Curious. Do you ever user words like bifid to see if b/f/d are the probably ending letter?
My least favorites are anagrams where they reuse letters. Ugghhh...

IKEA is great at making things small! (Claes Ohlsson is even worse, but probably less internationally known).
The first ting I do when buying something from IKEA, or CO, is to put the instructions booklet on the scanner, at least at 600 dpi, so that even that 4pt text can be scaled up to something readable.
With that digital enlargement I can also increase contrast, e.g. of medium gray printed on a light gray background. I guess that color blind users might want to alter the palette as well; I do not have that need.

I was gonna suggest, if it's just a paragraph or two, that you don't need to hang on, just take a picture with your phone and zoom in.
Otherwise yeah, doing a 'proper' job with a scanner may be the way to go.
