I only brought two computers with me on this trip - both of them set up for 'development', left one at the office. The browser started crashing after booting it up here at the hotel.

So...you checked into the hotel, and "started browsing" then IE crashed. Hmmm - suspicious: just what were you browsing? On second thoughts, I don't want to know...

Didn't help ... Seems the IT department installed a version of F-Secure that's not a 100% compatible with Windows 8.

No IE has a real purpose if used correctly i.e. with one of these[^].

Initially when I read the article, I thought the strip club was using software that used an Oracle database and somehow due to a database corruption/bug, a patron managed to run up a massive unpaid tab.
