In between vapid comments, I'm doing the housework whilst listening to some tunes. It just started playing "I Want To Break Free" as I began to vacuum the Banquet Hall.

See now all I have in my head is that video...
So do you find that a tight pink vest (with fake comedy breasts) and a black leather mini skirt helpful while doing the house work?

I once got suckered into playing that role during a circus performance.
(Was worth it for my son's obvious amusement).

I'm currently listening to Bleak Expectations[^] on my commute to and form work. Today's episode featured a bad sitar version of The Girl From Ipanema in a scene set in hell.

This is great, I even signed a couple of weeks ago.
But I am not sure about the final goal : There will be a lot blocks, that will upgrade at higher rate (than a whole phone version), hence people will change more often blocks than they are changing the phone today. Under the line, it is still a lot of electronics which go obsolete quickly.

Well not exactly. Trigger has upgraded his broom with 17 handles, and 14 heads, so roughly 17 complete brooms. In the other case -- buying a new broom each time a component breaks, he'd bought 31 brooms, so he spared 14 brooms. Make that times the number of broom users in the world...
But as a pointed out, the flexibility can lead to the exact opposite of the target : a lot more of soon-to-be-obsolete blocks of electronics could be created...

I suppose the high-spec components from the phone could always be recycled into lower-spec applications e.g. camera and transmitter units into an IP security camera, batteries into arrays for powering electric scooters etc.?
As long as all the interface designs were standard, backward-compatible and supported by major technology companies it might just work. I mean, it works so well in open-source software...
