I loved the caring bloke at 47s who takes photos. Never mind the hapless knob who fell through the roof.

2014 - The Rise of the Recruitment Agencies - Let the Apocalypse commence.
Noticed an awful lot of recruitment agency spam as of late from all sources, LinkedIn (to be expected), email and website. Apparently when asking a colleague this happens every January, it's like the new years celebrations gets them all fired up and they load Sales Force with their best ammunition. A friend of mine spoke to one for 45 minutes on the phone the other day... about toast or something or rather.
Any interesting agency stories?

I'm getting the post New Year emails from them quite regularly. I don't know if they're trying to clear 'old stock' from their books. Most of the emails I'm getting are from agencies I place at the same level as a dog pile.

I got a call, already a few years back from a company of which I knew had a doubtful reputation. I said I wasn't interested (and sure as hell didn't want to present myself at their office), but he kept insisting and explained me how great this job was, so instead of bluntly saying "not interested" I asked him a few questions and then some few and some few. In the end I was tired of it and politely tried to get him of his back. It took him still more 15 minutes to realize I wasn't interested (he never realized I was just playing with him from the start). The entire conversation was more then an hour and he was VERY pissed at the end.
nowadays I just bluntly say not interested. even being friendly is enough reason to try and keep talking. Each time it amazes me how aggressive they actually are.

This music video[^] is doing the rounds, I got it in four different e-mails today. The song is good, but in Hungarian, but it is the video that is of geekoid interest.

Cool video. I like the song even though I don't understand anything, and it certainly is a cute chick (at least from around halfway through the video ). And as you say: The photoshop effects are interesting (is it actually photoshop? Didn't know it worked on videos, but then again: I've never used it...)

It is photoshop, but photoshop does not work on videos : In the clip, they used real makeup, light effects, etc... and a bit of video retouching to make as if the whole of her was instantaneously photoshoped. That's the real performance here !

That ain't PhotoShop.
“But I don't want to go among mad people,” Alice remarked.
“Oh, you can't help that,” said the Cat: “we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad.”
“How do you know I'm mad?” said Alice.
“You must be," said the Cat, or you wouldn't have come here.” Lewis Carroll

The music is very good indeed - by the way do you understand the word, as IMHO it adds a lot - but it's ain't Photoshop. I cant' recognize the software (asked my brother who is a professional graphics designer - don't know that app), and of course it's irrelevant as the video is just making the illusion she retouched by software...
I'm not questioning your powers of observation; I'm merely remarking upon the paradox of asking a masked man who he is. (V)

SWMBO and I recently had a Hendrick's GnT with cucumber and pepper while visiting a Hawkes Bay winery[^], and were seriously impressed. Rest assured the Tangueray No. 10 in the cupboard will be soon joined by an apothecary-styled bottle or two!

To be honest I only just got a chance to see it - I had to go get a new CV joint fitted to the car this morning, so I've been out of touch (since I don't want to hack the garages wifi... )
