This project is damned to sink in the red sea. It was constructed by men and if not properly maintained it will get destroyed. (as I saw in TV in the Red Sea before Dubai can happen fierce orcans)
It is a historical mistake: bad investment of billions of Dollars.

No problem, just build a concrete wall around it. Problem solved
It's not the sinking I'm worried about, rather the natural erosion.

As seen on TV: there is some heavy concrete around, but it stands somehow on the seaground. And the seaground is moving and so all standing on it...

Today while driving in AutoBahn, I encountered 3 drivers who did not know the purpose of "Turn Blinkers/Light" in their car.
"This light is to indicate your intention and directiion of your lane change before you make a move" You idiotic semi finsihed human specimens
One guy gave the signal after they were half way through the change. and other two after completely changing the lane
Its good that my brake system were upto date and coffee was keeping me extra alert on a overcast day.
Rant Over... Nothing here to see.
cheers,
Super

So.. are you one of those BMW drivers who angrily shoot their high beams at anyone who offends them?

Unfortunately No. I am a humble man with Hyundai Accent.
Anyway Shooting high beam is better than shooting a Gun

Somehow the thought of an Hyundai Accent firing its high beams in anger is making me giggle

That's ok, no matter the region you're from, your accent doesn't come through when you're just writing.

I have a BMW 5-series, and most of the time the high beams is not needed. On the motorway most people move away, by themself, when they see the BMW comming from behind
I have never seen that happen with all the other cars I have had.

That is kind of what my dad has always done when making normal turns in the city.
Here's one for you. If you ever find yourself driving in Mexico on a country road (or small highway) with one lane in each direction and you are behind a big truck who suddenly turns on his left-turn signal, that is the trucker telling you the coast is clear for you to pass him .
It is something that takes time getting used to.

Will it not cause confusion?

I imagine so. I always hesitate when it happens to me. Normally you can tell that he is not really getting ready to make a left turn, but man, you are in trouble if he is.

Maybe for city people. This is the way truck drivers (courteous ones) indicate it is safe to pass in many countries with long roads and big trucks.

Just to make sure we are on the same page. In Mexico they drive on the right-hand side of the road, so they use the signal on the side where you are going to pass them to indicate it is safe for you to pass.
I just don't recall seeing that in other countries.

They do that in South Africa also, soon got used to it.

They drive on the left side of the road in South Africa, right? So in that case they are using the right-turn signal to show you it is safe to pass?

No they use the left turn indicator, and pull in to the "hard" shoulder, so you can see the road ahead. And most roads in SA (the parts I have driven on) are long and straight so you can easily check that it's safe.

I mis-read the Mexican wave.

Yes, that seems like a better way.

Where I live you can observe many drivers who never indicate. This arises from a lack of police to enforce the traffic code and a huge reliance on cameras as revenue raising tools i.e. if a camera can't catch the misdemeanor you are OK to do it.

Happens in the UK, in all cicumstances when drivers are turning or doing anything, halfway round a corner, on a roundabout, changing lanes, stopping ... even worse are the morons who think hazard warning lights are a substitute for all signals.
|
|
|
|

hazard warning lights? don't you mean park anywhere lights?
