Totally agree, all those towns between Connahs Quay and Ffynongroew used to look very grey and dismal back in the day. Rhyl was also a bit of a dump, especially in summer. But once you crossed the Clwyd you entered great coast and country. Coincidentally, the Glynne Arms in Hawarden got a mention in the Telegraph today, in the top 50 gastropubs in Britain; things are looking up.

That's surprising to hear..
It does seem that (at long last) the food situation is improving in Wales. We've had some good meals out there over the last few years. One place we keep meaning to try is Dylan's Restaurant at Menai Bridge, but it always seems to be fully booked and we're usually on an unpredictable (weather driven) schedule

Had a nice risotto at the Angelsey arms in Menai. Again, I was very surprised to see such good cooking.
Dillons looks a bit steep though, 30 quid for a Rioja! http://dylansrestaurant.co.uk/menu.php[^]

15 quid is the most you should pay else you are being ripped off, despite how much you earn.

Who wants to be a travel agent for half an hour?
I've spent the morning looking at holidays on the internet (unless anyone at work is reading this in which case I've been hard at work doing whatever it is I do).
Where would you go on holiday with my wife and a 10 year old girl?

Paris - including Disneyland(for the 10 year old), it used to be fairly cheap staying at the resort hotels(eurostar is fairly comfortable).
Cornwall - stunning views, walks, self catering, the sea and you don't have to travel abroad(i.e. no easyjet etc).

Did Disneyland a number of years ago, took the car on the Eurostar and drove the rest of the way (in a car that needed several litres of oil to get there and back and had a boot that wouldn't lock).
Go to Cornwall every year with my family, stopping at the Retallack Resort[^] in July of this year.

Didn't hint at the budget - but Tenereife is a must if you haven't done it. Plenty to do for the little one.

Deliberately didn't put a budget, or any other criteria cos wanted to see what people would recommend without that.
Went to Lanzarote a couple of years ago, only proper foreign holiday we've been on just the three of us. Did go to Tenerife when I was a kid with my mum, dad and brother and the Canaries are certainly somewhere I'd always consider.
