Well, if the answer is FORTY TWO, the clue should have been (5,3) or (5-3), shouldn't it?
You have just been Sharapova'd.

Depends on who edits the crosswords you're used to seeing. The two people who edit the crosswords I write use the style which ignores hyphens (the purpose of which, after all, is to make it a single word) so I'm just used to doing it that way. Some publications use (5-3), others (8 hyphenated).
I somehow think it unlikely that anyone thought the answer was 42 but changed their mind on looking at the enumeration however but I'll happily yield the floor if someone can claim that in total honesty!

Well, the truth is you are up again and by the rules[^], if you set a difficult one tomorrow as well, then...
And you get my vote for this one. It was a difficult one (at least for me), I must admit.
You have just been Sharapova'd.

Movie Quote Of The Day
Whatever female-driven, emotion-based dilemma you may be dealing with right now, you have my sympathy. But for the sake of time and sanity, let's break this down into a little male-driven fact-based logic. One simple phone call saves your dad's life.

What other odd place names have you guys (and gals) seen?
List on wiki[^]
What do you get when you cross a joke with a rhetorical question?
The metaphorical solid rear-end expulsions have impacted the metaphorical motorized bladed rotating air movement mechanism.
Do questions with multiple question marks annoy you???

"Drogen" - drugs
"Oberkaka" - major poop

Not just places. Person names are even worse.
I got very intrigued when I realized there existed people with the surnames Knoblauch and Rindfleich, which translates to Garlic and Beef respectively.
And there really exists people with the surnames Titte, Fickbaum, Feuchtenbeiner, Muschi, Breitscheid or Luderfinger.
(use a translation program, it probably just turns into a load of stars if I write it out)
But it doesn't stop there, some parents are really mean. If your surname is Schweiss, a fairly common surname, you don't name your kid Axel. (Arm pit sweat)

Axel Schweiss LOL
I used to work with a Knoblauch in Denmark several decades ago... Luckily he didn't smell of garlic...
I could wish for a female colleague named Titte or Feuchtenbeiner (are you serious, is somebody actually called that?) - just think of the fun you could have with that...
In Denmark, as well as Sweden, Pitt is a slang word for penis, and Stiv means "stiff", so I have a long standing joke (no pun intended) about Brad Pitt having an unknown brother called Steve. Normally, it takes people a short while to connect Steve with Pitt and realise what it could also mean. But then they normally break out laughing...
