Crystal Reports. Quite powerful, but also painful and annoying in some cases.

I've used the usual Crystal Reports and SSRS, but I quite liked DevExpress's Reporting software (https://www.devexpress.com/products/net/reporting/[^]).
I've also used a product from Docentric which works with placeholders in Word and XML/XPath (http://www.docentric.com/[^]).

I wrote a Generic Reporting "application" - actually a bunch of PHP/JavaScript - that takes SQL to create an input/request form and then generates the report per user specs. There are something like 375 reports running on it at last glance (DBA heaven of some sort).
Actually - it's great because I don't have to make reports - just a mechanism for them to be generated and the mechansim to generate that.
Feature Creap has taken it's tole, with possibilities to pre-populate the report with exisiting data, have reports cascade into other reports, internal dependencies and dynamic generation of the query screens. Excel dumps, Word Dumps (rare). SMTP mail generation.
Reports can generate input which can request reports which can generate input . . .
All I have to do is make sure it's always backward compatible and essentially unbreakable. The unbreakable part isn't too bad in that my users are Developers. They get to suffer with the rabble, below.

When is the best time to get a flu shot ?
Who says so ?
Real science in the answer greatly appreciated.

Why would you want to get the flu?

A lot of the other kids in my school are doing it, so I thought I would too.

The might I suggest something more recreational?

What are the replies of those 'other kids', to your questions?

No, he wants the flu to be shot! Learn to read, man!
I guess he's afraid there's a fine or something if you shoot it outside flu hunting season.

They're getting really bad around here about that.
Three guys were locked up for a month for shooting flues out of season.

Before the start of the winter season when this years flu signatures are in the latest vaccine.
Generally the vaccines are developed based on what happened in the winter countries in the other half of the hemisphere so the latest will be available in Autumn.
Your Doctor medical centre will know when they get the latest and should be able to inform you when it arrives.

It depends on when "flu season" is expected in your area. For North America, that's typically winter-ish. From the CDC website[^]:
Quote: Flu vaccination should begin soon after vaccine becomes available, if possible by October. However, as long as flu viruses are circulating, vaccination should continue to be offered throughout the flu season, even in January or later.

Friday we packed the car and went for an early dinner with a glass [on this case an honest, single glass; all be it large] of wine. Saturday was a quick 900 miles across Europe with a welcome brace of beers on stopping for the night. Yesterday we crossed the migrant infested Channel and, after unloading, the very pooped Vilmos went to bed early. Sober.
