No, Nagger - not quite.
It all stems from having sampled both the aroma and taste of gin.
Honestly, I was just being charitable. See where it gets me.
It's not like I (openly) stated that gin is the official sponsor of VB6 or anything like that.

Do you think we could replace his current tanker truck relay with a dedicated pipeline?

It happens even to the best of us. My first thought would have been that some slave trader heard that they want someone who knows scrum programming, and took it from there.

Me: Is your back-end programming language based on some industry standard language, or is it something you guys made up on your own?
Instructor: It's a scripting language that's a combination of SQL JavaScript, and other languages. Yes, it's our own language.

The one justifies the other in this case...
Bad command or file name. Bad, bad command! Sit! Stay! Staaaay...

I am trying to imagine how that first meeting went.
Let’s take SQL and JavaScript, amalgamate the two, and then add in features from a few more languages, and create this proprietary scripting platform that only our team knows about. Will make hiring devs very easy in future.

Probably a silly question:
Does it combine the best, or the worst of those languages?

Depends who you ask. Purveyors of and other stronger beverages universally agree the best part is when javascript programmers finish for the day and need to cleanse their minds.

I'm talking about people who have to use JS, not the people who design the language or who use it by choice. For them, we're in complete agreement.

Scripting choices are VBScript and JScript...
It's a no-win situation.

I'll be over here in the corner, reloading some ammo, and mumbling a quiet little prayer for your sanity, John...
I'm reminded somewhat of the time General Dynamics asked me to port old software from their own, homegrown language (GDBASIC) to a modern, standard language (hpl). Functions in GDBASIC were numbered, not named, and their parameters were a trade secret to be found on paper hardcopies distributed from an unknown office, if one was lucky enough to be on their list. And hpl was never adopted by anyone for long, because it was written all in lower case, and old punched card programmers couldn't get used to it. I thought I'd died and gone to hell.
Will Rogers never met me.
