That was an ad? My French is so rusty I couldn't understand a thing, but it seemed like a tribute to the recent terrorism.

American medicine ads are just weird. A pretty lady tells you that this revolutionary new drug will transform your life while a disembodied voice gives you all the reasons that nobody in their right mind would take this life threatening poison!

I will hand in my resignation, after a over a decade in the same company
I've been passed over for promotion
Suffered from depression
Had to deal with clients from hell
Why do I still feel like a deserter?

Sitting in the same boat right now, but my time will hopefully come in january.
Of course we are defecting, but as you said: They dumped every mess on you and rewarded you with a place at the end of the line. You owe them nothing. Sic semper tyrannis.

This is Javascript. If you put big wheels and a racing stripe on a golf cart, it's still a f***ing golf cart.

Funny that you should mention it, the same thing occurred to me (I didn't know it had a name though)

I may have something to say on the subject next week.

Steve's approach is to hope that the future creates a logical and consistent past?
A difference compared to what other approach? Hoping that it would be inconsistent? Yeah, I can see how that makes a difference

Because that's how managers, no matter how badly they treat you, want you to feel. And also, because you've lived and breathed this stuff for over 10 years. You know the people, the problems, the commute is ingrained in your muscle memory. It's actually really stressful to leave something familiar, no matter how much you hate it. Someone mentioned Stockholm Syndrome. Yeah.

Depends on your browser.
For Chrome it's simple:
Click the three-bar icon upper-right corner and select "Settings"
Scroll down to the bottom of the page, and click "Show advanced settings..."
Find the "Privacy" section, and press the "Content settings..." button.
In the resulting dialog box, scroll down to the "Plugins" section.
Chose "Let me choose when to run plugin content", and click the Done button in the lower-right corner.
Bad command or file name. Bad, bad command! Sit! Stay! Staaaay...

The BBC goes one worse - there's an option to automatically play the next video, and no matter how many times you turn it off, it always resets when you load another page with a video.

Have you ever watched EastEnders? That's one example of where Brits make a crises out of a drama.

Why do they blur only some of the faces? Is it because they are suspected of causing the roof to fall? Perhaps one of them was 007?

They may well have been asked to do so by the owners of the faces in question.

They blurred the two who were directly involved with what fell, presumably some potential legal issue further down the line.
