Is that the one where Tom Cruise infiltrates a Russian nursing home?

Pretty Close. 88 minutes of the 90 minutes you believe it is a Russion nursing home, but than the masks go off and team beta was testing Cruises team in a remote state of the USA.
In Word you can only store 2 bytes. That is why I use Writer.

Actually it says "StopCode WHEA" ... after so many re-boots with different settings I need to get re-souled, but turns out killing Skype ... after a system restore ... enabled me to limp here to scream. Anyhow, I know the entities that pulled this off are just making puns at my expense, as well as smirking and laughing, damn their tentacles.
The last System.Restore point I have says it was done at 5am on the 13th. (GMT + 7), but the computer was turned off at that time ... so: it could be the same people who follow me, video-taping everything I do, then slicing the videos into millisecond-duration clips that are cleverly inserted in any video I watch on this computer, often concurrently flashing (I'd estimate for less than a millisecond) certain words, like: "die," "kill," "hate," "Pepsi," set in black type against a white back-ground. If they can get into my house any time night or day, if they can climb walls like a Gecko, and hang upside down, to film me from strange angles, I am sure they could start my computer and have their perverse ways with it. Perhaps the only clear sign of my sanity I have left is that I can see what they doing, although, of course, their motivations, origins, ultimate purposes, etc., are opaque (which may be a blessing).
Note that I am too polite to describe here the various perverted distortions used in these subliminal video clips where my redacted is seen redacted with redacted.
Getting back to Win 10 fail: the symptoms are:
1. I get to the desktop; after about 30 seconds the mouse freezes, the keyboard doesn't respond. Nothing to do but reboot. This suggest to me a problem loading some dll.
1.a. whether 'tis a fluke that this one time (enabling to log in at present) I was able to get online, by killing Skype, or whether that's just an accident ... to be seen.
2. No sign of over-heating, no strange beeps.
Of course, I'll be happy to hear your story of violation and ruin; after all, suffering shared is suffering diluted.
cheers, Bill

Clearly Microsoft are showing respect for the passing of HRH: all Windows 10 installations in Thailand are dying as well... Should be fine in about a year.

Don't Buddhists believe in reincarnation after 40 days?
If you have an important point to make, don't try to be subtle or clever. Use a pile driver. Hit the point once. Then come back and hit it again. Then hit it a third time - a tremendous whack.

While in that state, does the machine still respond to pings, can you remotely browse its file system, etc?
I'd try creating a new local user account and logging into that. If the problem goes away, then you at least have a good indication it's something your particular profile loads.
If the problem persists however, then try booting into safe mode. If the problem goes away, then it's probably something working at a lower level like some driver.
Definitely NOT a fun problem to try to diagnose.

Hi Dandy72, Thanks for your on-topic reply !
I will try your suggestions. Right now I am having to restore the System form a restore point every time I boot the computer ... not only can I not stop Win 10 from upgrading with every boot, I can't do a Safe Mode boot ... yep, F3,F4,F5, all the other tricks ... will not work.
cheers, Bill

F8 gets you the system boot menu, unless they've changed it with Windows 10. Keep hammering it right after the initial BIOS screens.

Yep, Using F8 or Shift + F8 will not work in Win 10 using UEFI and SSDs; and, that's what I am using. What you have do ... well, I can't describe it right now without throwing up, again.
thanks, Bill

I wanted to check why my question is still unanswered after a few hours (since codeproject community is usually quick and good at answering questions).
Things is, my question does NOT appear:
- in unanswered question:
Quick Answers[^]
- in SQL question
Quick Answers[^]
- in all qestions
Quick Answers[^]
In fact here is my question (found in "my question" on my profile menu) (it's a SQL/indexes questions)
Multi dimensional indexing question[^]
But it doesn't seem to appear anywhere?! How come?
How do I make it appear in the SQL questions sections?

I can understand your frustration, but, surely Bugs and Suggestions[^] is a better place to post this ?

I have been slowly removing all questions posted by French type peoples.

Um - it's visible on the QA lists for me, it may be that it went to moderation and took a while to get approved. Approval is normally quick, but at some times of day it can take a while as it requires Protectors to be awake and active!

Your link seems incorrect. The tag value for SQL questions is 93, and the correct link is: SQL tagged questions[^]
Your question does appear in the first page of that list as of now.

It appears that your question had slipped into another dimension.
It was broke, so I fixed it.
