Good luck! I'll be keeping a couple of fingers crossed for her.
The "good bit" about mastectomy is the reconstruction.
A friend of mine had one removed, and a few years later when she was pronounced "well and truly clean" she was offered reconstruction, with a "matching job" to tighten up the "spare" that time had treated less than kindly, so they both looked as normal as possible. That cheered her up immensely!
