Don't worry, in Mexico we've mastered technicall English like the vocabulary used in every (old)VCR user's guide, TV warranties, and every other household appliances that come from our northern neighbors. It is just recently that the authorities ruled that all user's manuals must come with a mandatory Spannish translation and to those of us involved with technology, English is our second language.
BTW: A trilingual is a person who speaks three languages, a bilingual is a person who speaks two languages, a person who only her language is an american! (Just kidding no offense)

I don't care who pays for it, as long as it gets built.

Dear Uncle Sam:
Sure, you can build any wall you want over the borderline as long as it is built OVER the surface level because we RULE the underground.
We've built many tunnels under your present wall or any future wall you are planning to build over the future (as longe as uncle Scrooge McTrump gets the funding for that from american law-obedient tax payers).
We have tunnels all over the place, heck! er even have one that ends way down Scrooge's arse!!
And are currently working on one close to your (rear) end.

not just English but American-English, which I accepted long ago, but becomes a pain when other developers decide to create classes and functions with British English when they clearly know that system libaries will be using the American spelling. Color / Colour. Basic coding, keep the format similar to the rest of the code you working with.

My mother language is Spanish and it's very helpful when my variable names stand out in the middle of English names:
int contador = 1;
float precioFinal = 0.0m;
// cheers!!
|
|
|
|
|
...and then take Excel.
All functions are translated into some localized words. I use the term words because if you do not understand the language you are stuck reading that code. And in case you can decipher function name, there is no way to find another function.
Better broken or even bad English than this nightmare.

I agree the Drummer has very great potential and I like his groove
Would be very interesting to listen to him unpluged.

Almost nothing. Finally I have a little time to get on with my model. It took me a while to get somewhere. Research, placing the rivets on the body (twice), adding panels, lights, redesigning the front windows and even drawing and 3D printing new parts, like the winch.
Now it's time for the weapons. Nothing special. Two lasers and launchers for seven proton torpedos on every side. Oooops, wrong model. That was an X-Wing. This is a UH-1E Huey gunship from 1967 with twin M60C machineguns and launchers for seven 2.75 inch rockets on each side.
Sorry for the facebook link, but this video is the best I could find of a UH-1E. There were around 200 of them built around 1967, so they were a rare sight to begin with: UH-1E in action[^]
I have now used my involuntary time at home to finish the almost final prototype of the starboard weapons. I also added some paint to get an impression what it will finally look like and to practice painting the complete heli aged and weathered.
Pictures of the model[^]
Edit: I was finally able to trick the editor into making the link really a link!

I spent the last two days in bed and today nobody would expect me to show up for work. If my appetite (or sense of taste) has already returned, I might even leave the house and buy something to eat for tomorrow.

Don't worry - I'm a big fan of the "Typhoid Mary" school of Office Sickness: Keep the Elephant away from everyone else until you aren't infectious.
Herself works in an old folks home, and has to be interviewed to return to work after sickness - minimum 48 hours clear for diarrhea for example, and three days for a cold. I've known a couple of Contract Packers who won't even let service engineers in the building with a sniffle!

Besides all that, I read what you recently wrote in that survey about constant stress and the consequences. The 'complex finely detailed hobbies' are my way of dealing with that. On days like this they give me something better to do than brood over what has happened.
