Congratulations!
You are up ... whenever we do the next one ...
Which I think means you get a fairly major vote on this: See the thread above and think about when you'd rather post the next one: Monday, or Jan 2nd, or ...
(I'll probably go with your vote as you're the "next poster", unless you are heavily outvoted)

Oops. I've been out of the loop and didn't know there are new rules for this. Let's go with Jan 2 for the next one.

The rules are up on my homepage: OriginalGriff - Professional Profile[^]
I think you are right - Jan 2nd makes a lot of sense.
Have a good Christmas, and you have plenty of time to think of the next one!

Today is the day. It's the longest night of the year and from tomorrow on the days will become longer again. Sitting at home and recovering from a few operations, this is going to be one sad christmas, so I need something to do.
How MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries[^] would be great, but it's still not out yet.
So it had to be something old. Something trhat I had skipped and that has enough content to last a while. After a perverse download of updates (about 20 Gig), I have this now ready to go: Fallout 4[^]. They actually have a suit of power armor (with almost dead batteries), a minigun and a Deathclaw to get a level 2 character to get started and have some fun. A small army of Raiders just gets gunned down inbetween
I have lived with several Zen masters - all of them were cats.
His last invention was an evil Lasagna. It didn't kill anyone, and it actually tasted pretty good.

gonna hibernate till this festive crap is done.
- Fridge/cupboards stocked, no need to go anywhere near a shop. (missus is welcome to go, on her own)
- Got me own vids/music for emergencies like this; the radio & TV is [even more] total crap than usual.
- anyone phoning should know better: send a message and I'll decide if I wanna talk or no.
- Kids are all growd up: they know the drill.
- Even if news comes out that the World's gonna blow up all I have is: 'bout friggin time!
...
yep, it's peak season for grumpy old farts, and I'm in my prime.

Thats a day dream for me
Christmas day for me is to be invaded by the in laws and family friends who own a Chinese restaurant in town and my mother.
Every day, thousands of innocent plants are killed by vegetarians.

Following on from JSOPs rant!
As a developer the only stuff I had on my office machine are projects I was working on for the company. Everything was both backed up and in source control, no databases on the local machine and no personal stuff at all.
I had access to the development and UAT boxes and intranet. Why do I even need a password there is nothing on there that is not company specific and available to all my peers. And yet every 90 days I had to go through the same old routine.

On our server, who's file system has been with us since 1993, are drivers for ISA cards.
I'm just lazy, and who knows when they might be needed again.
I actually used our WFW 3.1 disk 3 years ago so, yeah you never know.
