At moments like this you should lean back and make a prayer of thanksgiving that you didn't have Radio and TV commercials to listen to, en mass, as well. You know, a hypothetical archive to list to after you've heard all the intros . . . all of the advertising.

The ability to record things for later viewing has been a godsend for avoiding this drivel, which has gotten more and more intrusive over the years.
It also makes it possible to watch any sports event in half the actual elapsed time. Well, maybe not rugby or football/soccer, but the latter is best watched on slow fast forward.

It's a waste of the airwaves to broadcast professional sports. People should play and enjoy - watching a bunch of other people play (and talking about them as 'we', as though they even knew you existed) is pretty pathetic. The pundits before and after every event? Feeding them is a waste of food - especially now as they quote asinine statistics like "this is the most points scored between 13:00 and 15:30 in almost a week" as computer stat lookup is added to their repertoire of audio-sputum.
Watch them games, as recordings, in half the time? Delete *.* would be much more enjoyable and a service to humanity.
Oh - did I mention I don't care for professional sports?

I agree with a lot of what you said. I'm not a fan of any particular team or even nation. But I do enjoy watching certain sports when played at a high level, so my viewing is usually restricted to playoffs, finals, or international matches.

I just brewed some coffee onto sever 15mm pieces of vanilla bean.
Way to mellow to do anything but smile at everything, especially since they're reusable for quite a few doses.

I tried to anagram horse or scold around gate or door.

Children are often taught "Gee Gee" rather than "Horse" when they are learning to speak as it's a load easier to say. It comes from the early days of horse racing: Chester Racecourse - Wikipedia[^]

Never heard of it, and it verges on child abuse.

I also tried to mislead into making an anagram of "unite a nag"

It worked until I realized there weren't any - and that gave me "RE" to go with "GATE"

Look - I will admit readily that we have our "types" over here in the US. Doing something like deep-frying an entire turkey is mucho-macho in some quarters.
But many of us - particularly the Northeast, especially coastal regions, and certain parts of the west coast, are quite rational.
I mean, be fair - can you look at a place like France and judge all of Europe by them, can you? Or perhaps consider 'the running of the bulls' and the marvelous sanity that reflects. The US is basically the size and population equal (close enough). So we have the full range of lunatics, cultural misfits, and even nice people.
No need to go on - as my late father used to say "you cannot smell your own". Oh so true!
