I just recieved a "TV mini box"* and it works fine - except it doesn't have the main free channels: BBC1, BBC2, ITV, and Channel 4 (and probably others). Channel 5 is there, but not the ones before it. So checking online I need to look at the TV settings, and there is a button "Update Channels". No, there isn't. Just some info on how many channels I have, and a single "Done" button. The main box is connected to the same router via the same Wifi and has 'em all ... but not the new box.
So I go to the supplier site, and look in the help, and it says to click the "Update Channels" button that doesn't exist so I go to tech support and find the "contact us" button. Move the mouse over that, and ... the button appears on the TV. 
Click it, and the channels appear.
I think I scared it into working ... 
* I junked Sky back in January in favour of a "streaming only" TV service for 1/2 the price and twice the reliability, and just got sent a box to work in a second room

I had something similar happen.
We have an eufy outdoor camera that started to only last 1 day after charging as if the lithium battery was needing replacement and the camera would just say "offline" in the app. Word on the interweb is that you're not going to get at the battery but there are two screws on the back so let's start there said I. I extracted the first screw and my wife exclaimed at that moment, "It's back!" - no kidding. And furthermore it says it's fully charged so I took it back it it's station on the porch.

How fine do you grind your coffee grounds for american coffee? I'm curious to know how other people do it, as I have very little experience with that coffee making process.
I use coarse for french press, midway between coarse and fine for moka, ultrafine for turkish but I never know how to grind it for american.

I tried with a fine grind yesterday and it seems it improved the taste quite a bit, I will sample better when not sleepwalking.

By American do you mean Americano? If so from a video I just now learned it is an espresso poured into a cup of water. So presumably the grind is that of an espresso. By the way perhaps this site may be of use Coffee ad Astra[^] If not Americano may I inquire the meaning. The method of brewing I am most familiar wtih is "Cowboy".

That's an Americano if you ask it in Italy. I'm referring to the drip coffee machines so common in the USA.

I decided not to vote this election, mainly due to despair at the Tories' failure to run a proper Conservative government. The alternatives are too awful to contemplate and we all know what is in store for us over the next five years. I doubt that my X will be missed.

Isn't there an option called NOTA (None Of The Above) on the ballot paper? We have such an option in India.
Once NOTA gets above a certain threshold percentage of the votes, then there will be re election (hopefully with a different set of candidates).

Not here. You can actually spoil your ballot by writing such on the paper, or vote for every candidate. But that does not have any real effect on the outcome.

Was introduced in India about 10 years ago, as an electoral reform. Not sure whether it has made any big difference till now. But at least, there's such a choice for the voter.
The Constitution of India allows any citizen to contest, and it is interesting to see that a number of candidates get lesser than NOTA itself.

I figure that if you don't vote then you lose the right to complain about the government you do get. So get out there and - or spoil your ballot.
Personally, I'd like to see a compulsory "none of the above" option at the bottom of all ballots. If it wins the seat, nobody is elected and everybody on the ballot is banned from public office for ten years. If "None of the above" wins the whole election, you have to restart with new candidates until we get ones the voters trust ...
