Kent, the CP schmo who does the Insider, is on a well-deserved commitment to a mental institution vacation, so they're reposting old articles.

We're sorry. Explanation from the Oct. 12 Daily Insider:
Kent has wisely taken some time off over the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend so we, in the office, are looking panicked and wild eyed at one another wondering what we'll do.
We thought of bribing someone who was actually funny to ghost write. We thought of hiding in a bunker until he returned. We even thought of actually poring over the news items and picking out interesting, relevant, on-topic news.
So we settled on re-runs. Each day we'll include a Blast from the Past just to remind you that it really was better back when you were younger.
Thanks,
Sean Ewington

Did you know you can make frogs immortal by removing their vocal cords? They can't croak.
Bad command or file name. Bad, bad command! Sit! Stay! Staaaay...

You must quit jumping to conclusions with such the leap of unfounded scientific logic and must wart off such morphing tendencies in the future lest you be considered a tad (off the) pole, though that conclusion has long been skipping across the pond of your life, oh, Prince-wanna-be.
And, kiss thee, I shall not, lest my own demised death bespoke upon my legacy.

Did you do that from Lilli's pad? I here she will give you a leg up.

Yer response is very ribbitting, indeed. I toad you this as we succumb to the slow-to-boil water syndrome of laughter.

I thought I toad you not to post so many puns.

That's unfortunate. I recommend LiquidWeb[^] as an alternate.

I am with Arvixe and have been for a few years. Alas, it is time to go. The mail servers (mail.domain.com) keep going down (and up!) and support took a week to respond to an email (that is why I'll leave, not because I can't reach the mail server for a morning)..
Enough already: there are plenty of alternates out there and Arvixe are not what they were.

That sucks. I have four accounts there, and a friend of mine has one too. I hate moving my sites around. I'm contemplating just throwing up my hands and not bothering with it.

Damn and I just renewed my service with them!

When I was searching for a new host (I'm on GoDaddy) a lot of people suggested Arvixe.
I was considering them and then I had an issue where I tried to load their main site and it wasn't available to me -- weird routing or something.
I dodged a bullet, because I was really considering them.
FYI - I ended up staying on GoDaddy but converting my old account --- as painful as that was -- and everything is working much better and the conversion process (to the new GoDaddy account) was easier than moving to a new host. Also, GoDaddy has answered every one of my questions and wait times on support have been low so I'm fairly happy with them as a cheap service.

Damn, I just had a 24 hour outage on my mail server and then got every email for the last month - twice.
Time to start hunting around for a replacement, either that or retire my domain and just use gmail or something.
Never underestimate the power of human stupidity

I'm not really in the mood to rebuild everything somewhere else.
But I guess I'll have to.
And I might as well dump Pair while I'm at it...all I've used them for the past two years is email and storage space. (A shame, really, since I've been with them for 16 years. I'll probably keep using PairNIC, though. Just repoint things...again...)
Damn it.
