It's invite only, so that it's only open to CP members - but if you send me your Rockstar user details via the "Email" link below I'll send you an invite.*
[edit]
Bugger! I've just realized that most members can't see the "Email" link - I'll have to think about how to handle this.
[/edit]
The idea of that is that it's a friendly place, where we can have fun, find someone to do a heist with, maybe learn something, whatever - without griefers and modders, hopefully.
There will be a "proper" club emblem (once I persuade the R* editor to cooperate) but don't hold your breath - I'll get it done, but not this weekend! The "crew colour" is set already - CP Orange!
* Do bear in mind that if 15,645,457 members ask for an invite it may take some time to get to them all ... I do promise to discard all email addresses CP sends with the email.

I have a bad feeling this will end in a kindergarten.
Next, a
FB
Twitter
Suicde
...what else
community/chat is asked
[Edit]
There are plenty of forums for gamers where gamers can join and discuss about the games. If CP will now support that and become a platform, I can not understand it.
I always thought CP is for professinoal programmers

While I basically agree**, I think if there are enough regulars here that play a particular online game, I believe it actually strengthens the community to allow for some jumping off for extracurricular activities once in awhile.
In rockstar's case they let you set up "Crews" which have a number of advantages in terms of grouping players together for cooperative missions. It's kind of unique that way, such that a codeproject crew would be kind of neat.
I don't think it warrants its own section, but I also understand the desire to cut down on clutter in the lounge and such.
Any ideas?
** I don't think it's necessarily just "professional" programmers or it wouldn't have so many members.

That was the idea of setting it up (thankfully with permission from the Hamsters) - and this thread was started solely to make it clear to people that it existed and how to join. The "not take over the lounge" idea was why I decided to handle applications via CP Email rather than via a lounge post.
But ... I've just realized that most people won't be able to see the "Email" link - so I'll have to see what I can do to prevent clogging CP up with requests while allowing any logged in member (and only them) to join. Hmmm ... this could take some thought.

Set up a temporary gmail account, or on some other platform, post the plaintext address here, then delete the account in a week or so?
By the way, what specifies whether we can see email links here next to the 'Reply' link? I used to see them, then about a year or so ago they disappeared.

IIRC they were being used for email spam so the Hamsters disabled them - only Protector and higher can use it now.

They should bring it back, but with a captcha. It was handy.

The correct place to post that is: Bugs and Suggestions[^]

"Safe" places are in short supply. The noise level is low here. Maintain the flow. It's still "software".

Yes ... but it seems more natural than all of us getting together for flag football or paint ball.

Not only natural... easy too.
Get an international group to the same place at the same moment... that would be a challenge.

It's going to be hard enough getting an international group to the same game session at the same time!

Would a CP Group do the same thing?

No, the idea of a R* Crew is that you can start a session where only your Crew can enter. So you can do co-op* heists etc. without idiots butting in with an Orbital Cannon ...
One of the problems with GTA / RDR is that unless you have "real world friends" that also play the game, it reduces what you can do, particularly when you are a beginner because it's very difficult to find decent people online. You can play with randoms, but that's really painful most of the time - and if you meet someone in an online session, there is a better than 50-50 chance that they will try to kill you. Either because "they can" or because they suspect that you are going to. A lot of it is predated upon by people with little skill but access to mom's credit card so they can buy the expensive toys like a missile-and-explosive-cannon equipped Harrier equivelant and if you're working hard to grind to buy a specific business and they lay waste to 11 hours of work it's rather frustrating!
* And definitely not take out your frustration on morons from QA ...

The CP group can be private too (request entry by the user, but given by the owner). Then you could use the message board inside to organize you, like giving the TS / Discord / whatever you use Address, and then over there, then go into a bit more private things like user names and so on until you find each other ingame.

Set up a temporary Discord server to handle this invite, then shut it down once no longer needed.
