Jon Corbett's languages Cree# and Ancestral Code allow programming in Cree keywords using Cree concepts and metaphors. For those who may miss APL (and if you're still using APL - whaaaaaaat?)

Software engineers have long faced excruciating interview processes involving unstructured, arbitrary exercises that seem rigged to catch them out. So why are they still putting up with it? "If both survive the lirpa, combat will continue with the ahn woon."
Or at the very least, the fight music.

This blog post contains some useful links for developers who want to stay on the cutting edge of the C# programming language. There's v2.0 features I still haven't bothered with
OK, "How is a page with three links on it news?" Because it's two more links than me just posting a link to the vNext page. /shrug

How many projects exists that are "cutting edge"?
Anything reliable is built on "proven".

Nuance's deep-learning-based speech recognition serves 77% of US hospitals. "Everybody's talking at me, I don't hear a word they're saying"
I originally saw a few headlines about the acquisition and thought, "who?" and "how much?!". Then I saw it was Dragon Dictate. Now I understand the price tag.

So now in 77% of US hospitals the service will be on hold because of system update at least once a month...

We ran out of eggs also; there's some bird-flu and chickens not allowed out. So no free-range bird eggs. Causing people to buy lots of eggs, since bird-flu.
We'll have to live on steak only; sad, but no alternative.

Watch your step with Heads Up…If you’re walking while using your phone, get a reminder to focus on what’s around you…Use with caution. Heads Up doesn’t replace paying attention. I get this for free by not looking at my phone while walking

The company wants to know how people want to interact with information pulled from their medical records. People with that kind of rash also visited these websites
I may be overreacting here, but I can't think of a bigger "nope" involving the tech sector

As if it were not enough with all what they already can infer from the "standard" things... a.k.a. web searches, the contents in gmail, what you do with your phone., where you go with your phone in the pocket...
Please don't allow them even to get close to medical records.

Boston Dynamics’ robot dog Spot exists in two realities. In one, it’s a terrifying harbinger of a dystopian future when robots hunt and kill humans. In the other, it’s the plaything of YouTubers who teach this robot quadruped to “piss beer” on command. Welcome to the future
And apologies to those offended by that word.
"Command", of course.

I can't see the teaching-learning part here... Writing code to open a tap at a specific position is nothing new and exiting...
As long as Spot can't learn to stop peeing inside the house (like any average dog) without altering it any way it is not learning and no intelligence...

Today we’re launching Am I FLoCed, a new site that will tell you whether your Chrome browser has been turned into a guinea pig for Federated Learning of Cohorts or FLoC, Google’s latest targeted advertising experiment. "The Eye of the Enemy is moving."

That actually motivates me to ditch Chrome.

Quote: FLoC takes most of your browsing history in Chrome, and analyzes it to assign you to a category or “cohort.” This identification is then sent to any website you visit that requests it, in essence telling them what kind of person Google thinks you are. Save your time. A reptilian who'd like to see the principals at Google publicly caned.
