The security firm Symantec just released its monthly report for June, and it's got some good news for spam fighters. "Don't make a fuss, dear. I'll have your spam. I love it."

Is it because the quantity of SPAM has been reduced or because the quantity of other emails are increasing?

Microsoft promises the traditional decade, or as long as the hardware can handle the OS, whichever comes first. Or until they announce Windows 11

OK, so the main difference here is that you will get updates (i.e., features) as well as support for 10 years. Previously it was updates just within the 5-year mainstream support period, right? Caveat being that your PC can handle any increase in system requirements.

Windows 10 has a secret screen recording tool that can be used to capture on-screen activity as a video file. Coming soon: conspiracies about its "real purpose"

Might be useful, and "secret" is a bit misused in this case.

For the last 40 years, Moore's Law predicted that processors could double in power every two years. Intel acknowledges that it's on more of a two-and-a-half-year cycle. Reduced speed ahead

They more than doubled in some instances so Intel has some "credit" to use up during this rough patch.

If your shop uses code reviews, then it is not necessary to single out a developer and tell them how bad they are.
You have a controlled environment where you can make suggestions and point out issues that must be resolved.

I prefer to address coworkers that write bad code with "Hey, sh*t for brains!"
[edit]Oh geez, now that I actually read the article, I have to wonder, why all this politically correct warm fuzzy garbage? What ever happened to "we made a huge mistake hiring you. You're FIRED!" But no, we have to waste our time coddling incompetence. And I don't mean you should apply this to junior devs - you know what you're getting into -- this should be applied to those people who lie when they knowingly (or not) call themselves a "senior" developer.[/edit]

Coding errors are fairly straight forward to address. If you have comprehensive coding standards and regular code reviews, then these sorts of awkward situations can be avoided altogether. What is more difficult are design flaws in someone else's code. It is easier to improve your coding skills than to improve your design skills.
"There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies. The first method is far more difficult." - C.A.R. Hoare

So much this. Without a documented coding standard it becomes a clash of egos. "This is the way I would do it because (long-winded reasons trying to convince others).".
With a documented coding standard it becomes "This is a violation of rule #32. Fix it."

Coding mnemonics, which help software developers remember everything from variable names to language syntax, can take many - sometimes odd - forms. Why is there no mnemonic to help me how to spell that word?
