That's nothing. Mine runs on hopes, dreams, and caffeine.
Well...indirectly.

When they say water droplets, do they mean tears? Mine runs on tears sometimes...

It provides a full set of floating point instructions, including the all-important SQRT.
If you have an important point to make, don't try to be subtle or clever. Use a pile driver. Hit the point once. Then come back and hit it again. Then hit it a third time - a tremendous whack.

When upgrading to Windows 10, most of your installed programs should still work. The key word, however, is "most." Step 0: Do you have a computer?

Step 1: Install Windows 10
Step 2: Call support

Alex: Fix it? How you gonna fix this?
Skipper: Grit, spit and a whole lotta duct tape.

In the last two episodes I did reruns of earlier articles on the technical interview process. I thought I might go into a little more detail about how I structure interviews and what I’m looking to get out of them. "Are you now or have you ever been a member of the Communist Party of the United States?"
OK, that one probably isn't a valid question.

Good article. One thing is clear, I wouldn't like to be interviewed by Eric. I would probably be starstruck in addition to being nervous.

I don't think I was asked that one explicitly during my interview; but it was implicit in being able to pass the background checks I needed as a defense contractor and I'm almost certain it was part of the paperwork I filled out for them.
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, waging all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

The move could be Google's way of attracting more external committers to the JavaScript rival. What will we all do when GitHub goes away/evil/gets bought?

I wonder how many people are using Dart instead of Javascript? Why am I not using Dart? Hmmm...

Because of the additional step of compiling (converting?) Dart to JavaScript?

Compiler and standard libraries will be available for OS-X, iOS, and Linux. Something seems to be missing from the target OS list. I just can't put my finger on it.
But hey, it's open source, someone will add it, right?

Apple has just announced the next version of iOS, unsurprisingly called iOS 9. Multi-tasking on tablets (and phones)? Wow, where'd they get that idea?
|
|
|

The problem with multitasking is that it is not really battery-life friendly;
IMO, it is a nice candy, but not useful most of the time.
(or I still don't see the use for it on a tablet or a phone)
I'd rather be phishing!
