Reminds me of getting Employee of the Month and getting laid off a few months later. Oh, and getting my yearly bonus check along with severance AND a check for my raise that I got two months before but hadn't been applied to my paycheck. Good memories, Novell.

IF the article is correct, then those two students are:
1) Better off not being at Emory
2) Have a valid lawsuit against Emory (already been filed)
In the middle of the article, it states
The {Honor} Council also claimed Eightball attached to Canvas without permission, despite it being stated during the awards competition in Spring 2023. The body launched an investigation into the students, which found that Eightball hadn't assisted with cheating and that the student creators had never lied about its capabilities.
If this statement is true then Emory could be on the hook for more than the $10,000 award they gave for the tool.
